Well done the lids.

Natural progression from pre-season. Lots of things to be excited about, plenty of work to do in various areas.

Just lovely to get 3 points on the board, and settle into the season.

I always knew Moyes was the man for this season, and Rohl at RB was the answer.

Said it numerous times.

Got away with a very sloppy first half, but for a decent amount of the second we looked pretty good.

It probably was the better game for Johnson to come into given the score and Palace leaving space behind, but shame Dibling didn’t get minutes.

Great result to start with though.

UTT. We’ll take that. Their heads went down after the second. It was comfortable in the end. Could have been a different story had they taken the chances in the first half. Great start though. It would be great to get a bit of momentum going.

Rode our luck and lucky not to have gone behind an on a number of occasions early on.

Did enough in the end against a poor Palace side.

Only saw the second half few bits I noticed Rohl was ok won’t be good there long term but a very clever player George looked good would be great to have a more attacking full back behind him it’s vital we keep Jared fit and delighted for Barry to get his goal we don’t need a striker

Some areas of concern but going forward we look the business. Potential in this team, whether Moyes can unlock it we will see. Don't think anyone played poorly today but need to find a better way to defend without the ball. Might just be a personnel thing though and could be an easy fix.

Also to give Moyes some credit (which I know is unfashionable) he made some sound adjustments at HT and they went from creating plenty in the first half, to nothing in the 2nd half.

We have a bunch of quality footballers sprinkled throughout the squad.

There are plenty of shortcomings (for now), we might not find the right balance, but at least I don’t have to worry if I’ll even feel an ounce of joy if I turn the match on.

Pleased with the win, Palace aren't very good though. Possibly trouble for them this season. You can only beat what's in front of you though.

Bad first half, should definitely have gone in behind. Decent 2nd half. Was surprised how little fight Palace showed after half time. Poor from them.

Very open in midfield, deffo need Garner or Norgaard in there. I like the look of all 3 today though, just need a bit of steel amongst it.

Rohl was ok but gave the ball away a lot first half, back up RB I reckon. Still a midfielder but could learn the role.

Attack looks good, maybe replace Beto if possible. Attack will deffo get goals.

Defensive scares me to death, would spend any and all cash we have on that. RB, LB and CB all needed to various degrees. Maybe not so much CB if O'Brien gets played there. Myko decent today but don't trust him against a better team.

First half 3/10
Second half 7/10

3 points, weekend not ruined. Onto Bournemouth.

I think City could relegate Palace if they made a late move for Wharton.
