Great for having a look at players though. Mangala we would have signed I think on how he performed. And Lindstrom was well worth a look. Moyes did it before as well. Yobo arteta as well came on loan originally I think. The loan with option also spreads out payment more for the PSRs

Loan with a reasonable option to buy is really our ideal pathway.

Not going to be an option with a lot of targets though.

Think we'll get loans on obligations to buy. Seems to be a nee thing for a lot of teams

Would love to have him.

Maybe not for quite that much though.

He looks a decent player, current playing club aside Doak has a had a couple of long term injuries he's come back from already.

5 months out with a thigh injury and 7 months with a knee injury, both requiring surgery. For a 19 year old that feels a lot, plus for a club like us it's hard to manage players who might be frequently on the sidelines as our depth is a lot smaller.

I could look past the current club but I'd swerve based on the injuries. Also, price does seem up there again.

My money is still on Dibling.

Interesting that Fellows was linked heavily earlier on in the window but has gone dead quiet as possible Dibling alternatives.

Either because we're not interested anymore/at all or because he' was always a last minute option for squad depth.

I don't actually rate Fellows, from what I've seen of him. He's a bit of a one trick pony, but the Albion fans love him so he must have something.

We could've had Fellows in January, and the same all summer for much less money than Dibling etc, so assuming that Moyes and/or others in the recruitment team don't rate him that much.

Also not really seen other clubs linked too much with him, so again you have to ask the question why, given how prized young, talented domestic players are.

That’s the problem with the deal, as we saw with Richarlison if you pay a lot up front then there really isn’t much room for profit as the going rate for a decent proven winger is 50-60 ish unless they’re literally above and beyond world class (say someone like Bale).

That seems the way it is though, the by far biggest price bump is the price when selling for potential. After that price kinda plateaus.

Nah, there was too much to do this window to take this stance.

Next year? Absolutely. Move back to the loan markets during January to test a few of the maybes out.

But this year it's 'by any means necessary'
