He is having a good game but that rash yellow was unnecessary he is the type to fly in again

Don't trust him at all on a yellow, and it's been too easy for Brighton to pass between our midfield and defence because neither him nor Gana are positionally disciplined.

Been his best game for us though, looks like a half decent player for a change.

Bit too much space in this midfield around him - but all his actual contributions have been positive.

Solid game so far.

Been alright today. I don't particularly want him a regular first xi starter but it's only fair to give him some credit when he's been decent.

Agreed, did well today, but he will never be at the required level IMO. We need a decent Defensive midfielder in the next week.

Thought he was really good, with or without the ball. Do people really want to see 2 100% sitting midfielders at home, isolated from the front 4?

We had that last season and had one of the worst goal returns outside the bottom 3, while defensively we were rock solid, but we want to evolve surely.

There is definitely still room for that set up, Leeds away on a night game, I would have chucked a Mangala in alongside Gana 100% if we had someone like that, soak up the earlier season adreneline from the home team. I also think Grealish, KDH and Ndiaye will prove a challenge to accomodate all 3 when there is a midfield battle to win first.

But at home, having a link up player in a dual role who is allowed to combine with KDH through the middle, will help us create. He's a really good attacking option from deep, for games where we can afford to play him.

I feel fine about him in the opposition half, and he showed some nice ball carrying/dribbling outside their area a couple of times.

I still think you need someone more positionally aware though for the deeper role.

Positionally he worries me, but today will give him a lot of confidence, hope he turns it around on a good loan move ideally.

Fair play to Moyes for sticking with him today too, i thought for certain he'd be dropped.

Very good for his age. If a rumoured signing had a highlight reel from a single game like Tim's today we'd be buzzing about the potential. Just hope the timing of our LB injuries and the transfer window don't mean he misses out on a loan move once Garner inevitably slides forward.

You can see why he was seen as a high potential player, he’s got the combo of pace, power and technique that lets him stroll through the midfield at times and you can’t really develop that you either have it or you don’t.

His issues are on the mental side with positioning, switching off, picking the right option and discipline - all of which can improve with time if he gets the right development and support.

I don’t actually think a loan will make much of a difference vs staying and developing here - I’d keep him around as a squad option and loan Harrison out if I was going to let one go as I think Harrison has a higher ceiling and would benefit more.

I thought he started ropey and then had some really good moments. I still don't rate him though.
