The thing with the Birmingham relegation is this isn't people saying it with hindsight which it often is in football. Everybody at the time, in all sections of the media and the fanbase basically called it out as a horrific sacking.

That squad, while it definitely shouldn't have got relegated was definitely not a top six one either so the decision was beyond odd. Had they finished 12th or a couple of places either side, that would have been fine. No Blue noses I know thought they were even a play off shout. He wasn't just doing ok. He was significantly over performing.

My neighbour is a season ticket holder and, in hindsight, he thinks that sacking Eustace was fine, except they got the wrong replacement in Rooney. Hindsight is the philosophy of fools.
