Breaking news on SKY that the owners are assessing his job!
Please make us all happy!
It appears that's from Alan Myers, and it sounds like he's just guessing but passing it off as insider knowledge, as he often does -

Yeah, I’m calm about him leaving.
Was always happening if we lost on Saturday.
Give Baines the cup. Make him player manager tbh.

Think they will give him the 2 home games against Villa and Spurs, both games regardless I think we will lose.
Dangerous game.
Jan window open, fresh manager, fresh ideas. Ideal time to make change.
Think maybe with them having a game on Thursday they want him to just take that.
Very little to suggest there is even any small whispers or murmurings that he's going, but TFG do play their cards close to their chest apparently.
The stats are soul crushing though, abysmal. The longer he's here the worse it gets.
If you are going to do it, today is the most ideal time and situation to do it for all the reasons you mention. I think the cup game doesn’t matter too much as we should win that regardless of the situation.
The new manager will also want to assess and bring bodies in during the January window. It needs to be done and there is no point in waiting for something that will never change.

Exactly, now is the time. Also another barrier to get signings in is if players think they are playing for this dinosaur

If its not now, then he gets the 2 league games for me.
Not that i want him to stay, but i think thats how it is.

I don't see anything happening for a while yet. All the better connected journalists like Bascombe and Hunter etc have absolutely nothing on him potentially losing his job.
And then Myers comes out on his own with his usual nebulous ''my understanding is that they are assessing his position'' that doesn't really mean anything or commit to anything, so that he has plausible deniability if/when it turns out to be wrong. Just SSN sensationalising for a Monday morning headline.
Could be totally wrong (and would be very happy if I was), but the mood music doesn't suggest a managerial change at the moment.

Would the UK journalists have any insiders at this point that have ears in the boardroom?

They will probably looking at who is available, who will come and how much if anything it will cost.
If it costs us £5m to sack Dyche and £5m for compensation to hire someone we want it starts to get to the stage where you assess if buying a £10m player and getting through to the summer under Dyche is long term more beneficial.
Really it seems just getting Potter in makes so much sense because there's no compensation involved but it would depend on if he'd want it right now.

If it is going to be Potter they best hurry up as I don’t think Lopetegui’s got long…

Giving Dyche the Villa and Spurs game would be pissing points down the drain. Two sides I reckon we'd get atleast 4 points from with someone who can give the place a lift. Get him gone.

Still think Potter would have zero interest in taking over. Maybe in 2 or 3 seasons when the club is on a better footing.

If thats the case just shows what a wet fart of a manager he is.....ducked and dived out of jobs for 2 years now..lack of confidence or just plain cant be arsed ?....is that who people really want ?

Potter to West Ham rumours are growing. See if that stirs any action on our part.
