As a fanbase I don't think we help sometimes, and it's not just strikers. We can be very unforgiving of young players in general at times.

Probably not unique to us as a fanbase, but just part of modern football. You can no longer afford to bed people in, the margins are so tight that we all want instant results. It's a part of why Moyes' approach to bedding people in is so unpopular at times.

We wont even be close to trouble this season so we should be giving him the majority of games to develop.

I’m with this, but for me he looks nothing like a footballer, he reminds me of one of them kids you see in some third world charity advert were they’re in an old United shirt kicking about in the dust, he’s certainly not got footballers legs, low socks or not.

Nope. Our only chance is in finding the right way to help him transition successfully from La Liga to La Prema.

He played well as a bit part player for a team that finished 5th in their league, where teams predominantly play technical passing football. Villareal are better than us. He’s still raw obviously but Grealish, KDH, and Ndiaye have not made us well balanced passing team. We can’t really stretch teams and there’s no pace or real passing ability coming from either fullback and the rest of the midfielders are pretty average or poor at passing. Mykolenko not being properly fit for any games hasn’t helped as Garner is one of the better passers in the middle. We’re still not a creative machine so I will always give our strikers the benefit of the doubt.

I personally think he just needs time and patience. He looks like a good buy to me and it does my head in that we still get the ‘we should just buy a proven striker’ shouts. It’s like talking to a rock trying to explain over and over again why we can’t do that.
