No way Moyes doesn’t improve him even more, Same with Patterson. Already seeing an improvement in Myko
Just being in and around the squad with an actual chance of seeing some proper minutes on the pitch does wonders for the confidence of young players. It will give him that extra half yard in training, knowing that if he impresses there, he has a genuine chance of playing at the weekend. Having genuine competition for places keeps the whole.squad on their toes, knowing that if they don't perform, there's someone waiting to step into their shoes.

Wonder if he and Branthwaite get a 2 for 1 deal at the barber.
Saves the barber getting down from the ladder.

Similar to the likes of Ben Gibson at Burnley.
And also Danjuma here under Dyche.
A weird obsession with under utilising players.
He looks quality, let's hope it lasts.

Played well and looked fairly composed on the ball despite their pressing which is great to see.
He looks somewhere between a Tarks and Branthwaite, should hopefully be playing now towards a more prominent role in the team moving forward!

Just goes to show how a player can look so much better when he is given the opportunity to get actual minutes. We spent decent money on him in the Summer, considering our financial position at the time, so to freeze him out completely and not give him any opportunity to show what he was capable of was nuts.

There was one time he showed / let Mitoma cut inside and the shot only just went wide... You could see Pickford pointing to where he should have shown him and giving him a bit of a bollocking. Think playing in the role he is not only is good for our shape as a team but gives him the experience he needs whilst not being asked to play in a back 2 where things like this would be more costly.
Been a bit of a masterstroke by Moyes imo as it's benefitting us now and also blooding him for next season or the one after when Branthwaite leaves.

In fairness he had a couple of outings under Dyche and he looked pretty poor but he's done well these last two games so it does look a bit more encouraging now.

It’s all a bit joleon lescott isn’t it. Blood him at fullback then let him loose in the centre.

Looked a little bit in trouble against the pace they had on that flank at first but settled into the game after that and was generally solid.
I do think the extra physicality has helped us of late, and height does matter with set pieces and the like. With DCL going off too, I'm even more in favour of having him the side.

This experiment is fine until we lose a couple of games, then the fans will be demanding Patterson.

Agreed, but it's not hard to look poor in those teams/games. I thought he did well yesterday and will only improve with minutes..

Considering both Dyche and Moyes were centre halves themselves in their playing days, it's quite surprising how differently they have approached the Jake O'Brien situation. Both are pragmatists by their very nature, but Moyes chooses the path that gives the lad minutes without huge risk, whilst Dyche chose to just pretty much freeze him out completely as soon as he made a mistake or two.
