What’s his position, Google basically says midfielder.

From Luiz and Dibling to Brownhill and Jack Harrison, probably.
Not sure why Trossard would swap the bench at Arsenal for our bench.

Brownhill is fine.
A big upgrade on Tim and Armstrong.
Should have got him in a lot sooner though.
Still need another centre mid after him if he comes.

Yeah Brownhill is perfectly fine on a free as squad depth.
Need that RW though and asap! It's maybe not quite total panic stations as we can play Ndaiye there, Grealish left and KDH in the 10, but it's getting pretty high on the Def Con scale.
Once we get an RW I feel the rest falls in to place, we don't know what we have to spend until we buy the RW and so it's holding everything else up.

Beyond me, what about Sunderland they've signed about 12 players, surely they can't be all good and how are Sunderland a better prospect than us.

Was more defensive but they pushed him further forward last season and he scored lots of goals.

Would take Brownhill on a free at this point.
Would take anyone with two legs and can kick a ball at the moment.

I think Brownhill would be one of those players who when you see him week in week out you rate him more than if you don't, he'd probably knock Garner out of the starting 11 and that creates squad depth.
Of course I'd prefer better, and he's already 29 so age profile is poor but at least he's free, rarely injured and likes to pass forwards.

Spurs in for Kubo apparently
And this I suppose is why players wait…
Man City put a huge price tag on Savinho and so Spurs go to the next on their list. Maybe it’s just posturing to lower Savinho’s price but it still means the same thing that until bigger clubs get their deals they can gum up the works for deals for the clubs with less pull.
There is an argument to say we have to be more creative and find some more diamonds in the rough than chasing more widely known players, but that requires a bigger overhaul of the scouting department I’d imagine.
