Apologies, in 10 out off 21 EPL games he has played in, (or 48% - quite nit picky to be honest), he has played at either left or right full back. I didn't refer to total minutes, partly as that data isn't available.
More complete passes at a better rate,
Passing distance
Garner 754
Wharton 621
Carries into the final 1/3
Garner 1.10
Wharton 1.09
Disposessed
Garner 0.24
Wharton 0.76
Passes received
Garner 36.2
Wharton 30.5
Progressive passes received
Garner 1.58
Wharton 0.87
The only stats I can find that were out was # of progressive carries & passes, not sure if I picked up the non per 90 number, or if last night's Sunderland game data had since been included.
Either way, progressive receives at more than double Wharton's total would seem to counteract that smallish discrepancy, given it's difficult to both deliver and receive progressive passes based upon their pitch location definitions.
An important point to note is that none of his carries from the edge of our box to just short of the half way line count, nor do any progressive passes delivered from the defensive 40% of the pitch, which I think might skew Garner's stats considerably, given his deeper role.
He just gets and uses far more of the ball in general. And receives it in better and more advanced positions. And scores, and assists.
Good post! Tbh I just think he's a very ordinary player who has kicked on a decent amount this season, but regardless can't fault the info in this post and enjoy looking at something that's real and not just an opinion not backed up by anything.

But he is a kopite? And it does affect my opinion of him? So I don't get why you're making out I pretend it doesn't?
