Even by our standards that's some mental timing, 3 hours before kick off.

Something must have gone on there.
Maybe they’ve seen the mood around the training ground and decided to make the change to save an embarrassment tonight.

"Relieved of his duties", not even a mutual consent.
Fairly blunt statement.

Yeah, there's definitely been some kind of fall out there, the statement doesn't even give any of the standard "thanks and good luck" etc.

I reckon it has to be something bigger behind the scenes, I wouldn't be surprised if our pursuit of Potter has brought things to a head and it's all gone off.

Hope they don't go full Moshiri and we're sitting here in three weeks time while they're throwing darts and names pinned to a board.

Absolutely bonkers timing. Hope they’ve actually got someone lined up

It is but I'd like to think it shows the owners have a bit of a ruthless streak about them.
Not bothered about sentimentality or emotions etc, if you're doing a crap job you're done, no point in dragging it out.
At least that's how I'd hope they'd conduct business here.

Longest it took them to appoint at Roma was 4 days, they've got someone lined up.
