We took over that entire place yesterday and always do when we get a big win.

Even just going down the off license for a few cans can’t be done at the new ground because there’s nowhere to get your cans, and nowhere to really mill round.

Really hit me yesterday that the experience at the new ground is going to be completely different and I think we’ll lose something with it.

In the picture i have attached, the stuff circled in blue will happen relatively soon (5 to 10 years) the stuff in orange from 5 to 15 years and the stuff in purple deep into the following decade.
The sheer scale and scope of the plans for this area is beyond anything the city has seen in a long time. Greater than LiverpoolOne possibly.

There's a lot of nostalgia and sad thoughts knocking around at the moment. Goodison wasn't unique. (Villa park is amongst one of a few places that has everything Goodison does), Z-cars is not more special than the funeral dirge across the park. Our fans are no more present and available to the club that Newcastle's.

This is the third ground we have created in the city. We will make it work.

We’re going from a place that has pubs, shops, restaurants aplenty to a place with next to nothing.

We’ve been able to build atmospheres and celebrate wins together on country road, and it’s made for some amazing nights.

Will we have that here when there’s very few pubs to dive into, no shops and everyone using the same exit out of the ground?

All the possible regeneration is great but it’s just gentrification and will take a long time for us to see the benefits.

I doubt we’ll see the scenes we’ve seen over the last couple of years at Bramley moore as a lot of people will not want to be round there after the game and will just dive into town.
