Why is everyone assuming that we’ll replace DCL if he does go?

We play one striker and already have Beto with Chermiti as back up - I don’t see us buying a starting striker as we just paid starting striker rates for Beto.

Could maybe see a winger who can fill in at striker as needed like a Richarlison type but don’t see us replacing like for like unless Beto goes too

Nah, still need to replace for me, won't have to break the bank either to do so.

I'd rather bring someone in and allow Chermitti a much needed loan out.

Also hoping we flog Maupay too, I keep forgetting he's even here, so we would need options.

My guess is Newcastle are backing themselves to spend now and have their income catch up later. Selling a 30m prospect allows them 150m for players on 5 year contracts.

Would be good to have a mint(eh) on the playing staff of the Toffees for the final season at Goodison Park.

It's time to move on if we can get a decent return. See what Beto and Chermiti can do with more time on the pitch.

If this allows us to potentially keep Branthwaite and Onana, then I'm a very happy (but still Bitter) Blue.

It might be mutually beneficial for him to move on to a club that’ll rely on him less. He gets to save his best up for when it’s needed, we get to put that money towards someone who can play almost every game.

I’m a bit bitter about the way injuries robbed us of the chance to see his full potential. He was never going to be clinical in terms of converting chances but given his complete physical profile (pace, strength, jumping, he had it all) and how much his movement off the ball had improved, the volume of chances would’ve been there for him to be a 20 goal striker (or merely close to it given the lack of creativity in the squad around him).

It hurts extra because Dom seems like a genuinely great guy and totally undeserving of that bad fortune.

Agree with everything that’s been said about Minteh here. Eredivisie output doesn’t necessarily translate well to the PL but the fact that he’s a right winger who contributes both with and without the ball makes him an exciting profile for a Dyche side.

If we could get anything near 20 million they've had their pants pulled down. DCL clearly had his strengths, but 14 goals in the last 3 seasons, or 66 appearances, isn't anywhere near good enough for your starting number 9. He will need replacing, but I'm confident, given a run Beto is more than capable of getting more than 5 goals a season, which is what DCL has offered.
It could be a good deal all-round, we get a new striker, and he gets a move where there won't be as much pressure on him to play week in week out, so he can manage his fitness a bit better.

dont want DCL to go - he is back to his best fitness when he was actually decent
if we sell him who do we get in place?

You’d be gutted if you sold Isak and replaced with DCL though……

And if it means we keep Pickford and Jarrad then so be it - too injury prone for a number one striker
