I'd like to wave this away, but too many rules selectively applied in the past make that difficult.

Will be thrown out. We served our ridiculous punishment by the hands of the Premier League and their silly little process.
Nah, it will be settled, 5M.

It shouldn’t be 5 pence - all clubs agreed to the process for punishing teams under the rules, and the timing of the punishment was on the PL and nothing to do with Everton. Can’t see why there’s even a case to answer.
Who are they gonna blame when they yo-yo their way back down to the Championship this season…

Perhaps, still think it's settled to get rid of the nuisance lawsuit.

Well we're paying one £1000+ an hour to fight it so you'd hope he'd be alright

Rates for the very best in the land are approaching double that nowadays though.
Even juniors can hit £600 an hour in some firms.
I want this generations Johnnie Cochran

Ladies and Gentlemen of this supposed jury. This is Chewbacca. IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE.
A very niche and old South Park reference

As long as you've got the cash, as Good Charlotte once said.

Did we finish 5 clear of burnley?? And the deduction was 6 points?? It was 6 points though because we didn't comply fully. Had we complied fully it would have been quicker and 4 points.... so burnley would still have been relegated

If they win and set a precedent, it's going to cause absolute chaos if these Man City and Chelsea charges are proven.
The Premier League was always going to eventually swallow itself up through the sheer greed of clubs, owners, agents and players, maybe this is the start.
This is why it won't win - it will cause utter chaos for the league and the courts, where every club will start suing one another for any breach of the rules, for which they have already been punished.
And it won't just be relegation. It will be for not getting in the CL, not winning the title. The FA Cup. Where would it stop.
