If we sign two players this window, I would like it to be RW and LB. Both with pace and skill.

I can kind of see their point but something has just felt off about the way we’ve approached these matches. Maybe I am assigning the players more capability than they deserve, who knows.

Moyes is largely going to give us more of the same. Maybe being a new person gives the players a bit of a boost, maybe he’s got an additional idea or two about how to manufacture chances with this group of players.

Seems like we’ve chosen the safest way to freshen things up.
It’s not a bad argument to call attention to these as our problem areas, but when you look at the points haul the same group achieved last season, you have to think that maybe it’s not our only play for safety.

And I would go further and say regressing to a defence only position to grind out draws and maybe nick something is actually the reason why we’re in this mess - because if we accept that we are largely shit, I have to ask the question “Why would you allow PL opposition to attack your shit team for 90 mins? You know they’re going to be broken down at some point by most teams and then you have no way of getting any points from the game.”

Is our midfield shit? Gueye and Mangala are not a horrible midfield duo. and if we play Patterson, are our fullbacks that shit? definitely below average but not nightmare shit. and young has looked okay at lb this season.

Really like listening to these two. It’s when Dave Downie dominates the blue room I have to switch off.

He’s talking nonsense isn’t he.

Not Kramer, Ted Knutson.

Our midfield has been sound over the last few years.

Gana, Onana, Doucoure, mangala, garner.

It’s lacks creativity but it’s more than competitive. Onana, Doucoure and Gana all regularly towards the top of the tackles, interceptions and running stats.

It’s not a midfield that needs protected in the way it did when we had the likes of Gomes, Sigurdsson and Davies playing there all the time.

Couldn't agree more. Can't listen to Downie.

“How olds the lad, 31, 32?

“He’s 24, Dave”

“Oh is he yeah”

Every single podcast he’s on.

When you have a midfield of Gana-Mangala-Doucoure you desperately need good full backs to provide the creativity and support for the wingers and this is something we haven't done at all this season.

I think just finding a way to attack with width and pace would see a completely different looking outcome for this team. Be it playing 3-4-3 with Harrison or McNeil at LWB and Patterson at RWB or buying a new full back / trusting Patterson in a 4-2-3-1 this has to be Moyes' first point of call for what to change and implement to make us at least a semi threatening team on the attack.

He's had some health issues which might have contributed to this hasn't he, sly on him but he's consistently completely incorrect.

Agreed. Is it Keith something?

Give me Matt, give me Paddy, give me Rob Vera, and I'm more than happy.

Seems like the players aren't sad about him leaving anyway. Yet to see a single message from a player wishing him well on social media.
