Also. Let's not completely rule out a major sale. Possibly Branthwaite.
Could dramatically change how we approach the market if he stays or goes.

Surely with the 3 teams relegated then we'll be hearing over the next couple of weeks about new contracts and other player's futures.
I hope to God we skip Doucoure but everything so far under Moyes would suggest he's getting a new contract.
The worst thing is I can see the logic in it, I just think he holds us back more than anything else.

I'd rather Soucek be brought in than give Doucoure another year.

That would be such a waste of money.

Will give up on moyes if we sign soucek for good money.
I’d just wait for it all to inevitably fall apart.
Same old same old if that happens.

I hear you all. But I'd rather that than another year of watching Doucoure mess up attacks. Its painful.
I realise they're not our only two options, just making the point about Doucoure.

Surely it won't happen.
A 30 year old that will cost 20+M
I actually don't think he's anything special either.
Hopefully there's nothing in this.

Hoping this is just lazy journalism and not lazy recruitment.

Well he's a leader I guess. We need leadership desperately. He's a decent player, can score, which we've seen recently. Not sure where else you buy a captain, we've no one that qualifies. They're generally not the best player. Norgaard? Odergaard?

Genuinely might as well keep Doucoure instead

I quite like him and think he would add to the quality of the squad but understand the reservations others might have too

Don't think we need leadership on the pitch?
There was talk when we were after Tarkowski that had the same sort of tone, and while having limitations it's been obvious how good he's been for us, when he's out, but moreso remembering how loose and rudderless we were before he came.
This even with the young talent we have in that position.
Tarkowski and Coleman are getting on, and Pickford and Gana aren't leaders. We need someone that can keep us together on the pitch, and Moyes buys character as much as ability.
Not my ideal but I can see it possibly happening, especially if things at West Ham aren't rosy.
