Linked to their RW Yeremy Pino too so could just be speculation based on where our scouts have been. Probably nothing happening now the Dibbling deal is progressing

I wouldn't mind us trying for Geertruida for the right back spot. Not starting for Leipzig so far this season.

Can also fill in at cb.

Well...right? You know about the ones you know about.

If a player isn't interested, a club generally doesn't bid, or a bid doesn't get to the stage of becoming public info.

We have probably spoke to a hundred clubs about a hundred players.

But your point is Moyes is only fuming about players we secretly bid for that no one knows about, but totally fine missing out on the young huge potential youngsters we didn't get.

I love a good conspiracy theory but this one's pushing it a bit.

Is it? What are you talking about?

You are saying, Moyes is annoyed about missing out on players, but all the players we missed out on are good profiles (list of players we've seen).

I'm saying - challenge that thinking because the only player we know of who held out for a bigger club is currently Fofana who actually hasn't turned us down, he's just waiting.

Fofanah, Conceicao, Bakayoko all rejected us, there's another one I forget the name of too.

Kubo we apparently approached and got the 'meh mebs, probs not' also.

What's the point you're making then? It seemed to be we don't know every player we bid for, so maybe Moyes has the hump about all the ones we don't know about but not the ones we do.

If it's not that I'm not sure what it is as that seems to be it 🤷

I think the disappointment of the window so far is driving us into a bit of a tailspin here. There's so much we don't know and we're making so many assumptions about what we've tried to do, or not do, and who's driving (or derailing) the process.

We've gone for some ambitious targets, that we were almost universally happy about until they didn't pan out, they now seem to be a sign that we didn't have a plan, or were wasting time on targets we aren't ready for.

We've gone for some more 'realistic' targets and have been asked to pay crazy amounts (and rightly tried to push back against that) OR they've chosen other, more attractive, options over us. Shit but it happens, especially when we're far from an attractive option (the stadium isn't the pull some thought it might be it seems).

What's worrying is that we seemed to have approached each of these one at a time, without any other 'warm' deals (I realise I'm guess here too). We seem to be missing out then starting the next conversation from scratch.

So we’ve signed 8 players if Dibling comes. Still have all loan slots available (Chelsea alone have enough options to help us). Still have ten days to get more signings. Yes there are gaping holes in the squad. But I’d say that’s a decent amount of work done. And compared with the last few years an enormous improvement. Romes sister club will not be built in a day

Grealish took a loan spot.

think counting King, Travers and even Alcaraz in "8 signings" is border line disingenuous

I know what you mean, but if we're going to claim 13 departures at last seasons' end, three of which were reserve goalies, then I think it's fair and factual to state we've made 8 signings.

The point can be made about first teamers being very light so far, maybe only 4 or 4.5 in, and 7 out, and perhaps a drop in overall quality and functionality for now, but a sizeable increase in potential.

We've got more business to do.

I think we're all getting pretty fed up with writing off getting any points in August.

The 8 was reference to Moyes saying we need 9. I presume he meant the keepers in that 9 maybe Alcaraz was already in when he said that. But like I said we’re not finished yet and we’ve not had a window this good for a long time
