It’s all getting a bit exciting now. Get a right back in next.

They were chatting about £25m early in the window for Soucek so we’re not in a good negotiating position. It seems like a bad deal to me unless we can really knock them down. They might want the money to make more signings though as they’re skint. Can he play as a 6? I know someone said so but he always seemed to be CM AM
I’m not totally against it if he can play that position and we also get someone like Hackney.

Soucek has a goal involvement every 3.5 games as a dm for West Ham.
Not bad.
Trying to talk myself into it as I’m sure Moyes will push for his man.

“We couldn’t get a right back in because we spent the last of our budget having our pants pulled down by West Ham to get Soucek”

I’m jumping the gun a bit because there are probably twists and turns to come but this summer is looking like an irredeemable disaster.
Hopefully this post will ultimately look as bad as me flapping about a potential back three with KDH at wing back on the Leeds match day thread.
Right back and DM away from making this look embarrassing and reactionary.
Come on, Everton…

€129m at the moment like.
I'm squarely in the "better late than never" camp if we get the right kind of full back and increase the midfield options/balance.

If we sort a RB and an CM think this window has been very good. Gives us a solid base to work with next summer.
What happened to that lad from Almeria was it? Wasnt there local press saying we had basically signed him?

If we can get Juanlu in and send Patterson to them, I’d be happy. Get Baines fully coaching Aznou defensively, and our side could look like this by seasons end:
Pickford
Juanlu O’Brien Branthwaite Aznou
Gana KDH
Grealish
Dibling Ndiaye
Barry
Subs: Travers, Tarkowski, Mykolenko, Garner, Iroegbunam, Armstrong, Alcaraz, McNeil, Beto

Hope O'Brien and Branthwaite have had their Weetabix.

I'm pretty sure this account is a blag, but we can dream:

We do really desperately need another proper DM. Not Gana or KDH filling in. We only have Garner.
If that desperation leads to Soucek then so be it, as long as we sort fullback ill be OK with that, overall it'll have been a good window, a bit late, disappointed with the Leeds game, but I feel better after the win and the attacking performance.
Harrison Armstrong is my future hope for that position, we could loan him out again if we sign Soucek or another experienced DM.

Yeah, it’s porous through the middle

Still very worried about the midfield and the defence.
My opinion on us having the worst midfield in the league hasn’t changed.
Was great to get a win at the weekend but it was a game that could have gone the other way quite easily and I think the new stadium bounce went a long way.
Just one physical DM will do and an ok right back.
Without another centre mid I don’t see us doing much this season.
