I don't get he summer break clause. What, when, how??
18 month deal with a summer break clause, it's effectively a 6 month deal with a further 12 months depending how he does by the sound of it.

If he’s shit, they don’t win again and get relegated maybe they can give him the boot with no compo?

Rooney sacked.
Tough job but hopefully puts to bed any notion that he's going to make it as a manager.

Sad for him but they seemed to be spiraling. He'll have another go at a lower level imo.

I don't think he has an ego. Quite a good article in the BBC about his time as a manager.

I think he's done as a manager. 4 jobs and none have been of any success, in fact Birmingham and Plymouth have been a disaster, it's a brave chairman who takes a punt on him.

He’ll be going down the pundit route now surely

I like him as a pundit. Knows his footy and especially insightful when taking about forwards/strikers I thought.

He was brilliant at the Euros with punditry. Hope he goes back to that.

Reading the athletic article and it sounds like he was very popular over there. People loved him as a fella but as always, he couldn’t stay out the boozers.
Should just enjoy his life now. Do the pundit circuit, and live your life.
Do worry for him though without that football in his life.
He’s deserves a lot of credit for how he’s turned out considering the level of fame he’s had since sixteen, but he does like the drink too much.

He comes across a lot better these days doesn't he, he's done away with that 'erm' he used to have.
You do worry how it might go for him though, he looks terrible already at 39 and that's with some exercise while he's managing, easy to see him putting another 2 or 3 stone on if he doesn't look after himself.

Borderline alcoholic who has been done for drink driving multiple times and has cheated on his wife loads... Not sure he deserves much credit for how he's turned out tbh.

I won't lie, if him getting more punditry means I get to listen to significantly less Roy Keane...
