It would depend on price for me, a nominal fee on a 2/3 year deal because West Han want him gone is one thing but paying over the odds to get him out is another.

He’s limited in what he brings but I think we have seen a few instances though where our players were getting bullied a bit physically in that area of the pitch in these first few games and we know Moyes likes a physical presence there, so I don’t mind at least having that sort of option.

I think we have a habit sometimes (me included) in being extreme with opinions one way or the other. It's just a trait of being a football fan.

But signing Soucek would just be okay and uninspired. He's not crap, he's not amazing, he's just an okay potential signing who will improve the team right now. Sometimes okay is okay, even though we all want something better than okay.

Okay

When he scores the winner at Anfield he’ll go down as the GOAT 😉

I think soucek probably helps Moyes win more matches here and now.

Big and tall, jogs about constantly contesting for the ball and winning headers and battling with people. Scores goals.

I don't like it but I could absolutely see it happening.

Gana Soucek Garner. Tough to play through.
Do you think Doucoure would score us 9 goals this season?

Questions for me are:

1. Can he do a job and sit in front of the defense when needed or is arriving late in the box to score goals a natural part of his game?

2. Can he move the ball where it needs to go quickly and efficiently? We’re building a team that is largely quite comfortable moving the ball quickly in tight areas. Could be detrimental to add a player who isn’t at an appropriate level to that mix.

Having an extra goal threat is nice but there are very important jobs to be done for the balance of the team and right now, we are heavily reliant on Garner for many of those things.

I’d rather just sign Brownhill on a free if we’re not going to address actual skills we need to function at a high level. Maybe not the same set piece threat but he’s a bagger who can play in a double pivot too.

No, do you reckon Soucek will?

If he was back up then cool.

But he’ll be brought in to play.

Wouldn’t want him starting ahead of Garner, Gana, or KDH tbh.

Wouldn’t have minded earlier in the window when we were desperate for bodies, but with the technical aspect of some of these signings, Soucek feels like a bad fit and a wasted opportunity to get something better.

But it may also be a case of building a toolbox and he would bring something different we don’t really currently have.

Is there anything actually credible out there re soucek signing or are people just losing their heads over it randomly?

Sources on Twitter saying we've put in another bid.

No grade A sources yet though from what I've seen.

Bit of a let down.

He's not the profile we need at all.

Smacks of Moyes just wanting his man because he has worked with him before.

Need a proper DM.

Not a player I want but I can see the thinking of adding him in there for depth as long as the fee/wages aren't too high.

Wouldn't be thrilled with it, but not going to be angry about it either.

This is where I am. Cost/salary dependant, I'm ok with this.

There'll be games, where he's the right pick and he offers something different.
