I'm not slagging Soucek off he's been a great player for West Ham and they have barely won a game without him (sounds familiar) but imo he's the closest thing to Doucs in the league (run around, recover loose balls, get into tussles, get into headers, arrive in the box and score big goals) so paying 20m for someone like that, who's 30/31 and legs have gone -- I think it's a fair point!

Feel like whenever I've watched him he literally trundles about doing nothing with the ball then pops up with the winner.

That said...I have been moaning we'll miss Doucs, I'd rather a 21 year old version but I honestly do think Soucek will help win Moyes more points this year.

Won't score ten tho surely, maybe 5, 6 which would be a great return.

He’s slow and poor with the ball.

Has his merits for sure but a bit embarrassing if we spend any meaningful amount on him.

Yeah it only makes sense if west ham want him off their wage bill. 8m 10 at a push. Anything more seems shortsighted
