Agree but we shouldn't be paying 30m and 80k a week for his reboot. That's the problem

Don't think we'll pet 30 mil and 80k isn't a massive wage if he's a regular starter. All depends on who leaves of course but think he would be one of our better players

He couldn't even get on the pitch for Fulham. 80k a week isn't a massive wage but it's a lot to commit over a long contract to a player who hasn't done anything for about 3 years. He'd be a massive risk. Could end up being 1 we'd get stuck with if it didn't work out. He's not worth the risk though he could end up really good

Broja had half s season a few yrs ago , certainly not worth ,30m and *80k. More injury prone than Dom

I like how we’re snapping up all the talent from the league below

We should be shopping in the £5m to £20m max range, and for players with significant potential, and also be working the loan/free market effectively.

That Minteh transfer would have been exciting, but £33m is a lot of money to be splashing out on one signing at the moment unless we make a chunky sale on good terms e.g. if we sold Onana for £50m.

I would like to see us add 2 wingers with good potential this summer and also a CB on loan/out of contract to add cover. Dobbin moving on means that we do need someone else there.

The RB situation is also one that needs serious attention. Primarily what to do with Patterson. Does Dyche start to trust and play him more this season, or is it a case of rotating between two nearly 40 year olds again.

Hands up, I'd completely forgot Patterson when thinking about our squad for next season.

I'm going to miss the era where we knew everybody in the squad really well and most were here for a while.

We're heading down the churn-of-talent era where I haven't a fucking clue what anybody looks like, never mind remember their names aren't we?

Due to his last 2 loan spells its highly unlikely someone will buy him either.

Best case is another loan.

No, I don’t think so.

One of the big reasons our squad has been so static is because we’ve paid a lot of not-very-good players a lot more than they’re worth which makes them difficult to move. How many years have we had a big senior squad with a limited number of players who can actually be counted on to perform consistently?

If we start hitting on more transfers then I assume we’ll see more big money moves 2-3 seasons into their contract but I would also imagine some of those will be solid players for which this is the highest level they’re going play at (e.g. Tarkowski) and that’ll form the core of the squad.
