I think it’s about playing isn’t it rather than signing

I rate him but unfortunately we don't have the structure yet for someone like him to thrive.

The good thing about his signing is we are gonna flip him for profit. Obviously it would be great for young players to develop here but we are a few years away from having the structure yet for that. Best is buy young and sell for profit which we have done here. Let's now go and scout and source the next Onana.

As has been said it would he hilarious if we carried on our back scratching scenario with Villa and got Philogene on loan.

Is he world class though?

I feel like he’s probably disappointed that this is the best move he can get.

I think he has a long way to go before he can be considered world class and probably played himself out of a move with his performances last season.

£50m move to Aston Villa is about right for a player of his quality.

Big improvements needed if he wants to bag that massive move imo.

Wowwww £50m is the best deal on the market for a player of his ability. Pants absolutely down.

We've got fans who can't wait to bin him off saying resign Dele 😆

I’m probably one of them if the dele deal is right.

£50m is a fair price. He’s not been the player you think he can be for us.

That’s just a fact. He played himself out of a bigger move.

Think he 100% has the potential to go to the top myself, if he applies himself.

Just don't think where we are at right now as a club is a good environment for someone like him to flourish.

Got all the hallmarks there, good luck to him.

To be honest, that’s quite a good move for the player and clubs all round.

Onana walks into their team given that Luiz has left and Onana will be stepping into a team that has just qualified for the CL. Big boots to fill in for Luiz though.

£50m is a fair price for both clubs and although Villa are traditionally similar sized to us long term, they are looking to push on and we need funds to revamp the squad.

Don't forget Lille's sell on clause that some are reporting is 20%.

He's quality, but it's a move that suits all parties.

Dyche clearly doesn't want to build around him, Onana will be more than aware of that and will want to play and be valued somewhere, and Villa will get a really good player.

He's not world class no, but that's an extremely high bar. To be world class you would have to be one of the best players in your position in the world. But he has the potential to be a very high quality player. Bayern wanted him but ended up going for Palhinha. I think that's a mistake on their part.

For us, much as I like him, Dyche had basically phased him out of the team so materially it's not going to be a huge loss and hopefully it gives the opportunity to invest a bit in some quality players who the manager is going to use.

Now we might get our right back and right winger. Shame our system didn’t suit him, I think his development will really escalate under Emery as a 6.
