Probably nothing in the rumour but even if there was we'd be doing it on a short term loan... No way he'd want to join us permanently and he's not remotely the profile of player we need, both in terms of how he plays and his age, price tag and wages.

Even on loan you wonder what the point is this seson. Expensive when .the season is done and probably/hopefully not with a view to buying him

We should be only loaning players we want to keep now.

Well you have to assume we are going to finish between about 10th and 16th now. Not sure its really worth investing 5m in 4 months of ben white in hope of winning 5m more in prize money

This season more than any other is wide open. I'm not for investing in players for the sake of it but to assume our finishing position right now is madness.

Nonsense. We're two games past the half way stage, there's plenty to play for yet

I love the way any player we are rumoured to be after on here is…..crap…not what we need….on too much wages or costs too much….so get loan players who in the main….with the odd exception….are basically either can’t get in their own clubs first team or are not required by their club…..
But same people moan about the standard of current players we have not being good enough……
So by their logic let’s not get anyone in eh? because either way for 1 reason or another they won’t be good enough…..
Confused ? I am….

We're a completely different team with KDH and Ndiaye, so things aren't as bad as they seem. One more match and we get Illi back at least.

Yes a Ben White would make no financial sense and Arteta wouldn't let him go anyway. His job is on the line if they finish the season with no trophy.

However another right back or striker of a reasonable financial outlay absolutely is worth considering.

I know we have had a shite Xmas season but that's not to say a couple of wins on the bounce doesn't put us right back in the mix and about a dozen teams in this crazy league this year will be saying exactly the same thing.

Always mad how you pluck these numbers up from nowhere.

A lot to play for still.

This is the midtable security everyone craved for years but we don’t seem to know how to deal with it.

If we're determined to give Barry every chance to succeed signing Callum Wilson until the end of the season is a decent option.
We can give Barry the majority of playing time and have an alternative who will happily play a back up role.
It's a sensible solution for the 16 games we have left.

A lot of West Ham fans would rather keep Wilson as he is their second top goalscorer and has been decent but if they play him any more it triggers a payrise of some description so Nuno has been told he can't play him, hence him asking to be released rather than sit at home.

Anyway, I don't even think we are seriously in for him as yet but we need an experienced striker and Beto is no good for us so I'd be hoping we are trying to move him on.
