Over 100m for 2 non regular starters is good business if you can get it

In fairness to the lad, if you'd spent a couple of years in Aston, you'd want to go to Saudi Arabia. Probably wouldn't even ask for any wages.
The transformative wealth is something that has to be taken into consideration though. These lads aren’t only making enough money for themselves for the rest of their days, but likely their children’s children. And at the end of the day, you’re only ever a split second away from a career ending injury.CannockPricey wrote: In all seriousness though, players like him and Ruben Neves going at an age in or before their prime need to have a proper look at themselves. Pathetic.
I think a lot of people underestimate how much money 80k a week (a conservative estimate) actually is.Jamokachi wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 8:01 am The transformative wealth is something that has to be taken into consideration though. I don’t like it but o can’t blame the players. Hate the game, as the saying goes.
If you've not got 4 side hustles tripling your base salary then you're not even trying. Or something.Bluedylan1 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 2:08 pm Gen Z don't seem to give a shit about anything other than getting the bag.

Maybe but there is no way that spending three years from age 21/22 to 24/25 in a glorified pub league helps you develop the way that playing in the PL, La Liga, Bundesliga would.MayorFarnham wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 4:27 pm He's a young man. Maybe he thinks spend three years getting set for life then still have the bulk of his career ahead of him.
Just as easily may mean he isn't jaded by 26.CannockPricey wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 6:51 pm Maybe but there is no way that spending three years from age 21/22 to 24/25 in a glorified pub league helps you develop the way that playing in the PL, La Liga, Bundesliga would.
Is playing in a big league really all that?? Playing for Madrid or barca or The Shite or city maybe but sat on the bench at villa? Instead of earning half a million a week in a pub league??CannockPricey wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 6:51 pm Maybe but there is no way that spending three years from age 21/22 to 24/25 in a glorified pub league helps you develop the way that playing in the PL, La Liga, Bundesliga would.
Feel like Arsenal never actually sell players for money and just continually splurge 10s of millions on players, goes to show how much breathing room PSR gives you when you're one of the few who'd already climbed the ladder before it was pulled.
