Potter is Brightons third best manager of their last 3. I think the way Brighton have continued to improve without both Potter and Ashworth suggests their success is more about being a fantastically run club than any individual

I think there's a lot of similarities in terms of the squad and manager that Potter took over at Brighton compared to what we currently look like. Set the groundwork for what Brighton have become on the pitch. De Zerbi and Hurzeler would have had a much tougher time if they were taking over from Chris Hughton.

I’m not bothered who it is as I am sure the appointment will be the correct one and certainly can’t be as bad as what we are being subject to now
Someone that sees the squad with a fresh pair of eyes, that the players are out to impress and everyone starts at the same level would be an improvement

I think De Zerbi flattered to deceive tbh. Started well off the foundations built by Potter but ended up finishing joint on points with us which is pretty damning.
Early days for the new guy but he definitely looks the real deal.

Potter won 31.11% of his 135 games at Brighton
Dyche is on 30.95% of his 85 at Everton
I like Potter, but weren't goals one of his biggest issues at Brighton?
They created a lot of chances though, it's just they were relying on Neil Maupay to finish them so probably explains why not many hit the net.

So on paper they’re both shit then.

Not if you add in a few wins.

Dont know how you’ve come to this conclusion at all.
Potter took them from 16th to 9th after three seasons and left Brighton in the top four.
They finished 11th last season.
This season they are 10th after spending nearly £200m.
They’ve gone backwards since he left if anything.

If a new manager came in now with half a season left and we got relegated who’d be happy for him to remain at the club to carry on with the rebuilding process?
Do you think the new owners would give him that chance? I don’t
All hypothetical of course, but so is talk of the next manager while you know who is still here

It’s not a given we stay up with a new man in charge
And while it ain’t one we go down with Dyche, I know which way my money would go

To add - my post above was in no way a “keep Dyche” one - he needs to be gone far as I’m concerned

The approach should be that its a given, that is, unless you think Dyche is doing a good job, in which case why bother sacking him?
If he replicates the first half of the season form, we will in all probability stay up. The expectation on the new manager isnt to turn us into world beaters in 6 months, its to equal one of the worst points per manager we have ever had. If you dont think we could get someone thats capable of that achievement, then we really are at a loss

Are you happy to hope the bottom 3 keep losing for us to avoid relegation because I can’t see where the next win comes from

Yeah but imo the chance of dyche turning this around now is slim he has lost the fans and I think the players are sick of his football too at least a new approach and ideas can only get us all back on board again and turn it around
