Whats peoples opinions on the tifo shit?

Does it build atmosphere or does it just look good on the telly?

Personally, I'd rather be screaming "Come on" with my fists waving in the air, than holding a piece of paper up.

I reckon Iroegbunam in for Rohl and McNeil in for Dibling there. Feels like what Moyes will most likely do

Don't think he'll trust Dibling tonight. Personally think it's the best way of introducing him in. Big game, under the lights, 50,000 behind him willing him on, live on TV.

Expect McNeil instead.

Think there's a fine line between authentic and plastic atmospheres. Palace get a lot of credit but for me that's over the line because the match is pretty much irrelevant to what's happening in the stands, they're just chanting and drumming and making noise for the sake of it. It takes away from when the big moments actually happen.

Think the Tifo stuff makes the matches feel more like a bigger event and get people more up for it from the start. Obviously it was a bit of a one off but thought the Ipswich match at Goodison was magnificent for the display the 1878s put on.

Got to be done by people who know what they're doing though. The club took over the the Brighton match this season with specific shapes based on the coloured flags in the stands but you couldn't make it out when they were actually being waved.

I do take your point from the middle paragraph, that it does make it feel a bigger occasion.

For the Brighton game, I never touched my flag till I took it home to give to my nephew.
I felt more passionate waving my fists about rather than waving the flag.

I remember, I think it was a Chelsea semi final at Goodison, lower B, and everyone was just screaming waving their first. Felt like a proper battle cry.

Thought the flags and fireworks were great for Brighton, but it was a perfect day in amazing sunshine were everything just felt right and went our way. Seemed to be genuine excitement leading up to kick off

All the lights and stuff at that West Ham game on the Monday night felt majorly flat though

hopefully what they are doing tonight looks great and more importantly helps create a good atmosphere

I don't mind the tifos before a game, they add to the pre match build up with the siren and Z Cars etc. I'm not fan of ultras though so I hope we don't start that, banging a drum, singing the whole game, it all feels a bit false and manufactured, football should be about emotions at certain events during the game, not singing "ally, ally ally oh" for 90 minutes.

Ironically, with the squad so threadbare, now is the time to really make sure we’re looking after players and not rushing them back.

All the pre match until they walk out I think is great. Then put it all down and go nuts when the team needs it.
