At some point we’re going to be playing better teams and Southagate can’t coach us to compete

Play like this and they might scrape a draw vs Slovenia in the next game

TAA is a plan for how to use the ball, and whether you agree with that or not, there's absolutely no denying without the ball it's awful!!!
We have no one who can disrupt anything, it's just soooo easy to play through our midfield with this lineup.
Needs Gallagher on NOW!!!
You can't sacrifice any ability to disrupt the opposition when they're on the ball just for the occasional switch of play from someone wandering about in midfield not having any impact on the game.

Why was Kane even back there for that throw to give it away for the equalizer?
Anyway, it’s been slow and lethargic and doesn’t work. Just like the second half versus Serbia. Were they all on the booze last night?
Not sure Foden has even been out on the left yet either?

Calm down Gary, it's a decent goal but it's not 'one in a million'.

Didn’t expect the pundits to absolutely go in on them like Ferdinand and Richards did there.
Totally agree with Mainoo/Wharton shout

In hindsight, Southgate deserves more criticism for that Shaw pick. Even if he's fit at some point in the tournament then he hasn't played a match for 4 months and only played 12 matches last season anyway in the league.
Should have just picked an actual fit LB even if he doesn't rate them that highly.
Been banging this drum for weeks - Mitchell from palace or even Doughty from Luton and the team looks 100% better just by having an actual body on the left wing to stretch the game.
Plenty of international sides carry a sub standard player rather than forcing the “better” player onto the pitch in a position they can’t play.
The whole thing is made worse by him picking Foden LW who has no intention to go out there

Still don't get the Trent experiment.

Done the square root of fuck all
Clueless positional with and without the ball
And when he does get on it he plays a simple ball behind everyone else losing all attacking momentum

Right sub.
Has to be the end of TAA in the middle. He’s been awful.

Hopefully Gallagher frees up Rice a little bit. Definitely picked it up this half.
Southgate has embarrassed himself with the Alexander-Arnold stuff. Klopp used to have Henderson basically playing RB when he told TAA to take up the midfield positions. He didn’t outright put him in CM for a reason.
