I think too much is being made of the sub. He got 5 minutes short of an hour, was on a yellow and showing signs of that miss getting to him.
Maybe he realised that the whole game was an opportunity missed to start to turn the corner.
As long as he's picked as starter for the weekend I don't see it as anything more than Moyes making decisions based on how last night's game was going.
Also it's not too much to ask for him to score a pretty open goal.

There is enough blame to go around surely?

Poor from Moyes in terms of service to the strikers, calling them out and chopping and changing them.

However, you have to say it's been disappointing from the strikers too. Missing big chances and generally unreliable play from both Barry and Beto such as Beto at Leeds or Barry against Palace I think where they look so off it. When they do get the start, they're both fumbling it too often.

Everything maybe stems though from what seems like a misalignment with the recruitment.

Surely you have to play to each players strengths , or at best the oppositions weakness. We do neither . And rather to prive a point when subbed on both just look uninterested and still annoyed that they havent. started.

The lad does look a bit vacant behind the eyes doesn’t he.

I get the same from Dibling.

Two young lads passed along the football food chain not really knowing what’s going on.

Nah Barry has showed emotion. Looked visibly distraught when he missed, same when he went off.

Dibling does not look for one moment like he wants to be here imo. Will be back on the south coast soon.

A leopard never changes its spots. We've all seen this story before with Moyes.

Last night was a disgrace by Moyes re. Barry. Just a way to kill any confidence the lad has. Strikers miss chances. Would Silva or Lampard have dragged him off and blamed him?

Can't imagine aznou was massively rated at bayern given they've sold him to us for less than 10m. Not really having Barry was dragged off either. He got 30 minutes more after the miss, 15 more after a stupid yellow and was the same sub we always make because frankly whoever starts is always a bit shit

And the fact that Dibling’s last move fell through because he was homesick and went back to Southampton.

Still doesn’t look like he’s fully with it to me.

It’s a lot to take in for the lad. He’s had some rise over the last couple of years.

Wouldn’t surprise me if both aren’t here in two years and we cut our losses.

It is quite a rise, jumping up levels every year. This last one might be too far for him.

It just feels like someone who can score 1 in 3 in La Liga at 22 years old should be able to make some sort of impression on the PL, even if it takes a couple of years to get up to speed..

Think this is the case here.

One of the Everton pods had some Southampton guy on to give an overview of dibling when we signed him and he said he started last season on fire, got injured and never got going again.

Don't know if that's a bad omen or not

He was also playing for Villareal who qualified for the CL, so they were probably dominating games and creating a good number of chances.

Here not so much, it's a very different ask. That's before you get into the difference in physicality between the leagues, he's probably never had to work so hard to win aerial challenges for one.
