£45m for a midfielder who couldn’t play in midfield who spent the last year of his contract in police custody accused of being a nonce.

It doesn’t get much worse does it?

He wasn't as shit as Tosun though, and Gbamin and Bolasie were bigger wastes of money imo, likewise Schneiderlin.

Tosun was a huge waste of money, agreed.

Gbamin probably wasn’t that good but we’ll never know, we never got to see a proper fit version of him.

Schneiderlin had an excellent half-season before becoming one of the laziest DMs I’ve ever seen. Tough when a player morphs into someone totally different over a few months.

I actually think Bolasie was pretty good even though he was often infuriating. I think he has a Doucoure-like trajectory if he doesn’t pick up an injury that saps his pace. Wouldn’t have ever had resale value but there’s a universe where we get our money’s worth in performances.

Sigurdsson was a millstone around every manager’s neck. Club record signing, can only be played off a striker, doesn’t want the ball, doesn’t win the ball back. He was lethal of the stars aligned for him to have a chance to play a final pass or shoot but it wasn’t worth tanking 80+ minutes of every match.

Oh no but that's a low bar. It was all just a staggering waste of money. We probably signed 4 or 5 where better financial sense would have just been to set fire to the transfer money to save on wages.

Maybe it isn't but it feels unprecedented the amount we got so completely wrong they weren't capable of any contribution at all

I think in bolasies defence he was creating good chances regularly. He'd be ridiculously shit in moments too but he was more than capable of making a reasonable contribution

Yeah I'm only basing Bolasie on his impact overall, similar to Gbamin they'd both have probably been decent signings but the injuries meant they ended up being a total waste of money. Not really their faults.

Insane that.

Makes you think we should be asking for well more than £80M for Branthwaite

Not a chance they'll get anywhere near that

"Current valuation is frustrating interested clubs ahead of expected summer bids"

The arrogance of this, boo fucking hoo.

Didn't have Victor Wanyama to Dunfermline on the bingo card.

And he's just been sent off on his debut. 😂

I forgot Lennon was manager there so that explains the move I suppose.

“Manchester United are unlikely to sell goalkeeper Andre Onana, 29, this summer unless they can make a profit on their £47m outlay for the Cameroonian”

That’s some crazy wishful thinking

I wonder if Jim Ratcliffe will adopt a "realistic approach" when trying to sell him?

Wait until they throw in a £10m bid for Pickford
