Tyldesley is such an obnoxious commentator.
The man would take half an hour to explain the word Brevity to you.

They got embarrassed by Denmark so yeah I dread to think of what playing Spain would look like!

I'm still getting over this
Southgate post match conference: "He's had some moments where he's delivered what we thought he would. We know it's an experiment. We know we don't have a natural replacement for Kalvin Philips. We're trying different things and at the moment we're not flowing as we'd like."
Media
I hate him

I’ve watched enough tournaments in my life to know this Spain team gets knocked out in the quarter finals.

How do you not take a fit left back to an international tournament? Shocking decision.
So many more issues because of tunnel vision with players. Cannot understand the obsession with playing TAA. Keep hearing the Beckham comparison.... fuck off, he couldn't lace his boots! Just try not playing a right back in centre mid maybe.
Then the main issue for me, not getting the best out of Foden. It's hard to fit Foden, Bellingham and Palmer in the same team. You can't drop Saka, and with Rice as the only defensive centre mid there's no real sustained build up play. So it's hard to find the balance there, but I'll tell you what the answer is definitely not.... fucking Conor Gallagher. Henderson regen.
Pickford
Walker Stones Guehi Fuckedit
Bellingham Rice Foden
Saka Kane Gordon
Or
Pickford
Walker Stones Guehi Fuckedit
Foden Mainoo Bellingham
Saka Watkins Gordon

You could sort of understand it if he was trying to play a midfield 3 of Rice, Bellingham and Foden and it wasn't working... You'd think 'well it should work and those 3 maybe just need time to gel'. However we're talking about shoehorning TAA in, who's not even a fucking midfielder.
It's been shocking and the players look completely lost. I've never seen a more passive team out of possession and it's not like we're great on the ball to compensate. We can't and won't ever dominate a game of football with TAA in midfield.
I'm just hoping this is a wake up call and Southgate realises he's going to be hammered if we go out playing this badly, even if we scrape through the the quarter finals.
Just play your best players in their best positions... It's not particularly hard.

Can't believe he actually said it's an experiment (TAA) and missing Philips. It's not 2021 It just tells me he has no plans to play Bellingham/Rice with Foden in the 10. That's what they should have been working on

The England team just isn't a team. Not sure kane can play his game when that puts him on top of Bellingham I'm midfield. We need someone pacy to play on the shoulder.
Then we've got no left back, TAA in midfield (he doesn't even really know how to play right back properly) and foden on the bloody wing
It seems like it's a mix of Southgates ultra negative rubbish and selections he feels forced to make to pacify the media. He's an absolutely awful manager but on top of that doesn't even have the courage of his convictions.

Spain the best team I've seen in the tournament so far, with two of the best wins against Croatia and Italy. Massively impressed with them.

Talking about not having Kalvin Phillips in the team is an unbelievable excuse to use. I'm actually lost for words he's said that.
Through injury and form he's been nowhere near the team for 2 years and Southgate has no alternative? He has no plan B?
