I hear ya, the average age of the squad. But Young, Coleman, Doucoure, Keane will all be leaving. And at right back we'll have O'Brien and Patterson, both 23 and Patterson not showed enough to be involved.
Experienced, free and familiar to Moyes. I wouldn't be disappointed. Save the money for some talent in other positions.

Coufal got 7 assists in the league last season. Good numbers!

He’d bring our average age down by about 14yrs!

I’ll tell myself that links like these are just to pad out the squad but I think I’m lying to myself

Absolutely no issue with him on a free for a two year deal.

Just dawned on me.
The Maupay move to Marseille was an obligation to buy wasn't it?
Some sweet sweet dollars coming in for that Muppet.

Pretty sure he’s out of contract and Marseille just picked up the last year of his deal.

Coufal doesn’t get the blood pumping but he’s a solid player. If he comes and plays significant minutes, it’s just where we are as a club, during a transition period.

Obligatory buy this summer. Something like £3.5m.

He doesn't even get minutes off the bench now. No one wants him

If we weren't doing a Lescott with JOB I'd be less enthused, but someone who is a decent RB but getting on a bit and can be rotated in and out when needed helps with JOBs development. Long term that's a good thing and is smart recruitment imo.
I'd love a Colman regen there but I think for a year or two until JOB moves central it allows him to continue to develop and us to spend money elsewhere and where it's needed most.

Yeah I'd be fine with Coufal as a one-off squad option on a free.
We've got so much stuff to do with the squad over the next few windows, that it can't all be done this summer and boxing that position off with a solid backup option makes sense for a season or two.

Coufal is fine, solid, decent. Not arsed about his age. He will come in and do a good job when needed.

He’d basically replace both young and Coleman wouldn’t he.
