Feel sly, really hope he can come good because you can tell the fans are v eager to love him. But he does appear to be wearing wellies.

player who would have been a dream for us here and were heavily linked with last year is Serhou Guirassy. Yet we end up with players like Beto because of the inept way we have been run since Moshiri.

Since Moshiri?

Edit: I’m having a mare! I thought you meant since he left - not since he arrived!

I don’t mind him because he didn’t actually cost any money and it’s stopped us from having to flog DCL to death. I actually don’t care if he’s a bit rubbish because with our track record we could easily have gone out and blown whatever he cost on a player we didn’t need like another LW or Davy Klassen (sp?)

Wonder if we'll actually need to pay for him at some point.

Deferred to next season isn’t it, so he comes out of next summer’s budget regardless.

Quicker we get into that stadium the better. Looks like it won't be next season that we're able to inject some £s into the revenue column, not just yet. And with TV rights only up marginally I'm not sure how much better we're going to look, (the takeover situation aside).

Wonder what the fine print says around if we must still pay for him if we can't afford to, and might be forced to send him back. That is, if it's effectively a loan, or a completed purchase if he performs well, a la Dele.

I want him to do well though he's struggled a bit so far, with flashes at times.

Gomes and Ali costing us £250,000 a week combined, both should drop off the payroll end of season and will not be replaced.

More like we adopted someone, than brought an asset to the team.

As much as I don’t regret the good, human stuff we did here - from a business perspective I have to agree.

That might have come across badly.

I meant that the main benefits we’ve seen have been how well we’ve looked after him as a person. And I’m proud that we did that.
