Alleged that Dych 'cuffed' Patto on the head playfully, but it wasn't appreciated by some players. I guess if my boss played a truly awful CB at RB and didn't give me a look in, that 'Dad' gesture wouldn't have gone down well either

Probably told him that Keane was playing next ahead of him but seriously would you blame Patterson for being cranky his career being stifled by this grock

He's bombed him out completely like, I know you love sticking up for the big man but it's inarguable that he's binned him off.

Don’t love sticking up for him at all.

Wasn’t his last game against Luton where he was terrible?

Nobody batted an eyelid when he was dropped initially as far as I can recall so I think there’s good reason as to why he’s not playing.

Two years since we signed him and there’s been little improvement.

I’d rather he played like but I don’t think his performances for us warrant this reaction to him not being in the team.

Classic case of a player becoming better the more he’s not playing.

Bullshit ram you are constantly backing dyche up ffs he is playing a centre half right back who can’t kick a football or play football well while a lad who could offer us so much more sits and watches

So what if I am.

Be boring if we all just constantly blamed him constantly for everything wouldn’t it.

Dyche has given Patterson plenty of game time. If he hasn’t performed that’s on him.

It's hard to improve when you're in and out the team, had injuries or dropped as soon as one of the older players gets fit again. It's not so much that anyone thinks he's better than Godfrey, Young or Coleman although I do think there's a good argument for it given how poor they've been or the 'classic case of someone getting better when they don't play'. It's more that he's 22 years old, we've invested a decent chunk of money in him and we should be giving him every opportunity to develop here, be that in the team or out on loan. He' s going to make mistakes, it's an unforgiving position to play it but as it stands now we've another 'investment' losing value, learning nothing and probably getting demoralised the longer it goes on.

Dyche definitely has a blind spot for players, he'll crowbar Young in where he can, he was bigging up Godfrey before he was playing so now he's sticking with him even though he's done his usual, peaked for a game or so and has been rotten since and you could say he only played Branthwaite by accident rather than picked him on merit. Statistically he's no mistakes leading to goals, got a couple of assists and created some decent chances, play the lad, let him make mistakes, let him learn and back him.

Godfrey is crap but what has Patterson shown throughout his entire Everton career? He’s had 3 managers since he signed and no-one’s played him consistently. Three managers who also saw him in training every day & practice matches, as well as the games he did play and they still don’t pick him. There must be a reason for him not playing.

Is three managers perhaps part of the problem, although he's only really had two as Benitez was sacked two games after we signed him? He picked up a bad ankle injury on international duty that kept him out for the rest of the season after we signed him, started the next season well then picked up another ankle injury and missed half a dozen games, after that it was all a bit chaotic and if I recall Coleman was preferred which is understandable given the position we were in by then.

I've said before but with all the upheaval and manager changes over the last few seasons and the league position we've found ourselves it is the worst place for any young player to come to, we've fluked it with Branthwaite that he ended up having a good loan last season but even when he was back this season he wasn't getting a game at first. Patterson's been unfortunate that we've needed him in the squad due to Coleman's injuries but we should have sent him out on loan this season similar to Branthwaite, it's doing absolutely no good playing people like Coleman and Young ahead of him who aren't the future of the club.

Not saying he's right or wrong to do it, I'm saying he's bombed him out. has he or nah?
