Naaa fuck Charlie Adam.

Has he been coaching anywhere ? Where is he currently? Has there been improvement at the teams he is coaching at?

Could look that way but I doubt that Moyes would risk success/his reputation/relegation for the sake of giving someone a job that he doesn’t believe in, maybe he’s hoping that Adam can pass some of these skills on ?

Back in his playing days, Adam received high praise for his ability to take set pieces from none other than Sir Alex Ferguson, after Manchester United’s 3-2 victory against Blackpool in 2011.

Ferguson said in his post-match press conference: “We were deep in the mire in the first half.

“We just couldn’t handle Charlie Adam’s free-kicks and corners. We were all over the place. His corner kicks are worth £10million in themselves. The boy is an incredible striker of the ball.”

Stop talking sense.

He just wants his mate here so they can go for a pint after training.

From Wiki……
Following his retirement from playing, Adam began working as loans manager at Burnley.[138]
On 31 December 2023, Adam was appointed head coach of EFL League One club Fleetwood Town.[139] Fleetwood were on a nine game winless run at the time of his appointment.[139] Adam was unable to keep Fleetwood in the division and they were relegated with one game remaining.[140] On 22 December 2024, after one win in 11 league games, he was sacked with the club sitting 18th in League Two.[141][142]
So nothing in regards to being a set piece coach.

Ye not great if it happens. Get someone in who actually does that for a living.

It certainly seems like lazy thinking/jobs for the lads, etc.

Which was the argument against making a lazy (disguised as "safe") appointment in the first damned place.

I recognize I am not being fair, and this is just how it feels in the moment. But we need this place to get things off our collective chest, ya know?

I don't think Moyes has ever been one for handing out "jobs for the boys", he said last week and he's done it before, he wants people around him that he trusts. In our position he's not going to risk anything just to give a mate something to do, if he trusts Adam and wants to get him in then I've no problem with that.

Most people have never even heard of Austin McPhee and despite not managing or coaching at any decent level has become a highly sought after set piece coach, so I don't see a problem giving someone a job who played at a high level and has entered management getting a job.

Taking a good inswinger is surely not the same as knowing how to spot and work on different set piece routines.

I hate it but it is what it is, he's getting the boys inand he's thinking let's get down to business wi the boys

Just the usual “Everton are shit at everything” stance

It really isn’t though.

We don’t know anything really, but you can’t deny this doesn’t smack of moyes getting his mate in, or at least someone he’s familiar with.

Other clubs seem to go through a proper process with this type of stuff.

He could be good at the job so it won’t matter if he is but it doesn’t give off great vibes.
