Was reported in the athletic by paddy boyland who mentioned it again on the blue room this week.

Why does it defy logic? He’s out in contract next season, he can sit, asses his options and pick up better wages and a big signing on fee.

Well he's spent about 2 years injured followed by 18 months missing what few chances he gets with us. He can assess his options all he likes but the way he's playing he ain't going to do better than Newcastle

He'd be stupid to turn down Newcastle assuming they offered the same money on a long term contract. He's done nothing in years to deserve that

Pre-contract in January then. Thid is the worst outcome, he'll play at 75% to avoid injury.

Hopefully not. It’s a well known fact that the further away you are from giving 100%, the greater the chance of injury ;)

You can see he is streets ahead of Beto in his all round play very good yesterday himself and ndayie and Tim were excellent
