2 shots on target?

One goal?

50% ratio when he hits the target?

Baz is the man!

Tidy finish, what you want from a striker in that sort of moment.

Just really happy for him, changes the narrative enough to allow him to hopefully relax a little and kick on.

I loved his movement and the fact he slotted, both of those things showed he is actually capable and has talent.

He probably needs a year to bulk up because he can get dominated with ground duels but imo the rest is there and will develop as the season progresses.

Can definitely get pushed around by some of the big strong CBs in the league but he does keep going which is great.

I thought he'd left it a split second late and should have hit it earlier for the goal but he slotted really well.

Some good link up play at times but actually thought he wasn't great today. Happy he scored and keeps getting minutes to hopefully continue his development.

"It's huge for him, and it was coming - it was certainly due," Moyes told BBC Match of the Day.

"He's got to score, when you're playing centre-forward, otherwise we will find someone to replace him."

----------------------

Maybe that is context of a bigger point he was making, but on the surface Moyes has a little more of an edge to him these days it feels like.

Probably Moyes just talking pragmatically though.

Balls through the lines are the way with Barry imo... a conventional striker he isn't

Kind of rich coming from someone who asks way too much of his CFs in general.

He should also know better. Sometimes the best CF for a team isn’t the best goal scorer. See: Bent, Marcus.

Just throwing down the gauntlet to him, and also keeping Beto motivated knowing if he gets back in and starts scoring he'll keep his place.

Think it's totally fine tbh, just giving the strikers the message that they're there to score and the incumbent needs to produce the goods or the other will get the spot and potentially keep it from them.

The lad already puts enough pressure on himself to score and he is self motivated to get the goals that Moyes wants.

It was a nice finish on Saturday. Composed but he also didn’t have to think about it. That makes it a lot easier as it’s a natural instinct rather than overthinking the situation.

Yet to see an awful lot of pace from him. Seems to have the upper body strength (which will get better as he gets older), but does he have an ability to knock it past a decently paced defender.

He has to keep getting in the 6 yard box and be in the right place. If he does that, he will score goals. There is ample supply from the wings and KDH, and perhaps Moyes is right in that he should be applying some pressure.

Don't mind Moyes telling it like it is. He realises he has two strikrs not currently fit for purpose so he is throwing down the gauntlet to see if they step up to the plate. He's probably a little annoyed he has us up to 6th with hardly any contribution from our strikers so far and his frustration just leaks out.
