I know I’m being a bit snarky here but it is promising that we present ourselves well to these types of players whether they sign or not.
That is invaluable. I’d be willing to bet that we got laughed out of the room many times under Moshiri. I’d also be willing to bet that agents of promising players wouldn’t even answer calls if they had other options.

A gin and orange, a lemon squash - and a scotch and water PLEASE!
Not what we need this season, he’s another kid who’ll need (ahem) developing, he’s a one in six striker atm, unless we send Barry the other way then no, we need someone more proven and ready to go.

Would be mad if we signed a CM, a winger and a striker all before getting an RB done, but also not surprising!
If we're after this guy though it would maybe lend some weight to the Barry to Leipzig rumour that went around a week or so ago.

He already looks better than Barry and Beto put together. Can create his own goals as well as poaching.

Ah fuck it. I'm in.
Love a good in off the bar goal.
Looks 2 footed too.

Looks like he strikes a ball better than Barry does. The issue with those type of YouTube videos is they don't tell you how much of a nuisance he is in 90 minutes. Does he give the defenders a rough time? Does he run in behind? Can he hold the ball up?
Barry's goal return in the end wasn't that bad but the issue is that there's probably about 2 opposition CBs in the entire league that felt like they had a tough time against him even if he got a goal.

He’s got a nice looking shot from distance which will come in handy when he has to knock a long ball down to set himself up.

I think some of you need to watch the DR Congo goal again tbh. Spence only had to stay in line with the rest of the defence and the striker would have been about 2 yards offside. He had so much time to realise and could see accross the whole back line. He was overloaded but that’s completely irrelevant and then tries to do a big slidey across the near post and fails forcing Pickford to try and cover both sides of the goal. Absolutely amateur.

Not really on board with this type of signing after last year.
Will likely take a season to get up to speed and result in another year of a striker getting single figures and a mid table at best finish. Again.

Well listen, we can’t sign ready made super stars.
We can buy older guys who we know what we’re going to get.
Or we can buy younger and take some gambles and invest some time.
I know what I’m choosing.

I think the bonus of this guy is he's 19, so 4 years younger than Barry.
So maybe he will have a similar impact, which won't kick us on immediately, but also he has a few years of development to become a monster and be sold for huge profit.
It's exactly the business we should be doing, providing we can attract him.
I'd 1000% prefer this to signing Delap.

It's a tough call when you've suffered Barry for a season with his playing style, but Bournemouth, Brentford and Brighton must take the same gamble. They find talent and benefit. Is it our scouting or we just make poor choices upfront
