He’s also a fun relic of the Liverpool dumb analytics era where they bought players based on chances created and ended up with Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing, and Jordan Henderson.
Sadly, still a better hit rate there than any metric we’ve used since Moyes.
they signed downing after seeing a cgi video of him kicking a ball in a bin from 30 yards

It's worth questioning but don't know anything about the lad apart from he played for them lot. Not sure about many back room staff abilities though, I'm not interested enough to worry more than who the immediate team is.

I don't think anyone's getting 'emotional' or wound up about anything, bit of a weird argument to make.
It's more there's the pessimists and the pragmatists, one side wants to find fault with almost everything and the other side gets sick of all the negativity about everything and would rather see how things pan out before writing it off.
Let's face it there's enough and has been enough to be negative about without over analysing things that haven't even happened yet.

So boring.
It’s fine to question something like this.
Doesn’t mean you’re a pessimist, doesn’t mean your opinion is based on him having one season at liverpool.

Questioning is fine, it's the catastrophising and daft freak outs about random stuff that's the thing that's boring.

He might have skills Baines doesn't in this area but I'm struggling to figure out what they are. Bow to the expertise of the manager if he's going to be part of it I suppose

Equally OK to be like - oh I don't care about this, or even - I think this is a great move, I suppose.
Think sometimes we have to remember we're just chewing the fat here. Yeah sure I'm correct but that doesn't mean we have to take it personally.
We're chatting, state your opinion without saying the other person has to just be quiet because theirs doesn't match yours imo.

Oh no I don't mind it, perfectly cromulent, just specifically against it being used to call out my own foibles
There's plenty, kopite cunt, jobs for the boys, only got it because he kipped at Moyes' house once, can't do set pieces because he's only had one year as a manager, all he knows is how to whip a ball in not anything else is possible etc etc.
