Eriksen would be the one for me, been banging the drum for him for ages. He's old as fuck but still quality and think he'd suit a midfield with Gana. Different sort of player but think he'd have a swansong here in the same way Barry did.

I say old AF, he's still younger than Gana.

Love this thread each year, always full of some horrific shouts 😂

I've said KWP previously as someone we should sign at the end of his contract, but his assist numbers are always really low (max 2 a season), whereas Coufal got 7 in his last season with Moyes.

For that reason I'd go for Coufal because Moyes knows how to get him involved in goals whereas KWP just seems another 'meh' solid but doesn't affect the game in a meaningful way player, and we've had enough of them.

KWP would be a great squad option if he was willing as he can play both left back and right back - wouldn’t want him as our starting RB though

Jorginho as a modern day Gareth Barry style signing? I honestly haven't watched him play in about 3 years but he's only 33 so could get a couple of seasons out of him as a deep lying playmaker.

Ben Davies is comfortable at LB and CB... Wouldn't be against that either.

I think we need to be careful not signing 32+ year olds on high wage contracts though so probably rules out these kind of signings, although maybe one would be ok if they really did improve us.

Lamptey and Myko would give us "change of pace" options to mix things up. Insane value if his wage demands are reasonable-ish (which they might be, he's not coming from Sky Five/Six, and not likely to get any competing offers from that tier).

I think Eriksen is cooked. I am fine keeping Gana another year, maybe two. But you have to surround him with youth and pace.

Thinking out loud, I wonder if Moyes can successfully make Garner into a rotational RB? Better idea than signing an old guy for same role, and allows us to use money on midfield creativity instead.

I find it hard to make a case for most players on that list. But I suppose we will have to explore dipping into this market to fill the squad.

With Doucs going, we're going to need to add someone alongside Gana that can also put the miles in. I don't think any of the current options we have for that 10 role can cover the same ground, which isn't a problem if we see a bit more of the ball, but when he's not in the team we are definitely easier to play through.

We also lose physicality through the middle, watching Garner get booked for falling over trying and failing to foul one of their lads at the weekend was a tough watch. Doucs would have at least stopped him.

Someone with a better passing range than garner and the athleticism and physicality we'll need should be a priority imo.

Jorginho is the stand out one

Jorginho hasn't played much at all for several seasons now though, I'm not sure he's suddenly going to be a regular reliable starter for us.

Not much on offer there. Eriksen is a horrendous shout btw.

He's already agreed to join Flamengo.
