Interesting to hear him talk about using JOB to build up with a 3 sometimes and then a 4 other times, and then utilising Lindstrom sometimes as a wingback and sometimes as a winger accordingly.
Tactical flexibility to create more options going forward.
Moyes is light years ahead of the last fella.

He's loves Lindstrom like. Seems like a player he's been after since Eintracht dumped them out the Europa.
Apparently wanted him when he was at brondby I think it was

Thelwell must be happy that some of his targets are getting a chance and let off their leash a bit.

Absolutely crazy how some actual tactics and coaching and OPTIONS has made such a difference.
Always said that these players are decent. As Ram has said over and over again, would have been 12th last season without the points deduction.
I'm fucking made up and the players looked genuinely comfortable and more happy today.
Excited to see more improvement and also make sure not to lose my head when things don't go to plan

Moyes has impressed me with the changes he's made in such a quick time period.
I think the main thing is that he had one look at Ashley Young and had the same thought as Dyche - if you're going to play him you need to protect him and give up any threat down that side.
Unlike Dyche though his conclusion was much different - I can't play him. Removing him and Harrison completely transformed the team, and playing JOB there and having flexibility to be a back 5 or 4 depending on if we were attacking or defending worked great, and was just so much less rigid.
It looks like he's said to the players too that it's fine to lose possession trying a pass so long as you win it back immediately... Lots of times today a misplaced pass was instantly followed by that player chasing the opponent down and either winning it back or forcing them to play backwards.
Another massive change was getting Doucoure and others close to DCL when going direct. Dom's hold up play and cushioned headers or flick ons were great and it all stemmed from him having someone to play it to, instead of trying to cushion a header that he could then chase himself or try to bring under control.
We actually passed it too, plenty of little interchanges that got us up the pitch without going long.
Shame we nearly threw it away at the end, but even if it'd ended 3-3 I doubt we'd have seen Moyes do what Dyche did after Bournemouth and become even more rigid and defensive. It would have sucked the enjoyment out of the performance but I don't think it would have been as catastrophic.
It feels like we can enjoy Everton again, I didn't expect a win today, hoped for a draw but I was genuinely excited for the match and can't remember the last time that happened, and I was fully invested in the game, celebrating when we scored, biting my nails at the end... It's how it should be but hasn't been at all this season until now!

Absolutely. Enabling their key attributes to shine through. Dyche just strangulated everything for the sake of his 'system'.

Yeah kudos to Moyes but he hasn't exactly reinvented the wheel to change things.
I'd love to think we had the money to get Kudus...

Moyes will have learnt so much again today. The good, the bad and the ugly.
The good was obvious to see. The players CAN play football. They can keep the ball and they enjoyed playing and creating chances. They took everything Moyes said on board and implemented it in super quick time. Overlapping, balls down the flank, variety in play. It was all there and was fantastic to watch from our team. It’s been so long since I have enjoyed watching us that it felt a little strange to be watching them play with freedom and enjoyment. I saw players like Myko even crack a smile when something they did didn’t quite work out. But we were 3-0 up I suppose.
There was far more good today than bad or ugly thankfully which can give us a lot of faith that things will be ok.
The bad was not actually that bad, but not taking chances to get to 4/5 nearly cost us in the end. DCLs goal was great and really well taken, but it again comes down to being as clinical as possible. We had one on ones, Tarkowskis header, etc etc. Spurs were there to be put to the sword and thankfully we did that in first half. Second half we didn’t have the same edge.
The ugly was something we that we can work on. Poor subs from Moyes in the end changed everything in the last 10 minutes, but perhaps he felt like that’s all we had available to him. It felt like we had every defender at the club on the pitch. We need reinforcements in January to be able to change like for like and to keep a similar system going through the match.
As I said, lots of information he can take away from it, but mainly good things. So glad Dyche is now a distant memory and we can focus on the future.

Really liked hearing him say post-match that the plan was to get a 4th in the 2nd half, especially as that's what it looked like too.
There's something about his demeanour that's changed since certainly the last few years of his original time here. He seems a bit less cagey to em, both in terms of the way he talks but also in the way we've approached games so far.

I'm sure he'll probably do some things to annoy us at some point but agree with you there. Sounds like a man who knows what he's doing, is setting high standards and isn't here just to finish 17th every season...
... Which is exactly what we need.

He's pumping the confidence isn't he. Bet Dom, Lindstrom and Ndiaye are beaming.
