I don't really get the timeline. Has it been confirmed anywhere?
Could it really go beyond the end of the season with appeals? Absolutely crazy if so. Not fair on anyone at that point.

Does that include wages?
Probably not. Our wage bill can't be that bad, can it?

It's the most ''Everton that'' thing ever that we're going to get deducted points twice under a set of rules which are completely unfit for purpose, just months before that set of rules is changed due to them being unfit for purpose.
It's like sentencing someone to death after you've decided to abolish the death penalty, because you're not changing the law until August.

We make £5 a season from corporate sales/boxes
We pay players Champions League wages
We pay many managers many millions in compo when we sack them and their entourages
Our dodgy sponsorship deals were all axed

Its so confusing all this. If its a 3 year rolling loss, it seems like any club who falls afoul in a single year will be punished 3x. There's something wrong with how this was all thought out

Another thing is that they are going to decide the fate of the two clubs at the end of the season, in full knowledge of how many points would/wouldn't relegate both teams.
How is that remotely appropriate on any level? It's supposed to be a dispassionate, equal system removed from human error or bias. If we're 7 points clear of relegation they might choose to deduct us 8 points magically. Or they might say we'll give them a 6 point deduction, because we don't want to relegate someone like this, and that would be equally fucked up.
Surely this Super Silk can drive a tank through most of this nonsense?

Well, touch wood, this is exactly why he was brought in.
Needs to earn his money big time now.

This is the issue when you're making the rules up as you go in terms of what the actual punishments are.

Yeah, the appeal is concluded a few days after the end of the season and as far as I know the result of the appeal decides everything?
So with this second charge hanging over us we don’t know what our fate is when the season is done.
We could be five points clear of the relegation zone and still go down.
We could be five points off safety and still stay up.
The timing of the whole thing is utterly absurd.

Yeah, it concerns me that the club may have completely misread the rules. Hard to believe but not something that would come as a surprise under Moshiri's tenure.
I just never ever trust a word out of their mouths, but yeah I wouldn't put it past them.
I also don't think their statement is that strong, it sounds more like 'poor us, so unfair' than 'there is a practical argument on which we will be found clearly correct'.
The statement at the time of the original referral was :
"The club strongly contests the allegation of non-compliance and together with its independent team of experts is entirely confident that it remains compliant with all financial rules and regulations."
Which again, is not confidence building to look back on.

We are paying Ali and gomes a million a month not to play.

It's like what would happen if VAR was applied to the league table.
Season finishes...oh wait, hold on, we're going rewind the previous 3 years and get back to you. You may or may not be fucked...hold on...

Yeah they've lied to us again IMO. They aren't compliant and never were going to be. We just think the rules are unfair. That's not the same thing.
Run by absolutely inept cunts. Fucking hate the lot of them (genuine hate) delighted kenwright has the legacy he deserved and delighted he wasn't welcome at goodison by the end. Hope moshiri loses 100s and 100s of millions. New lot no better either. They made promises they knew were false

Considering we're incompetent at everything else we do it's hard to believe we are not at fault re FFP.
My overriding feeling is just sadness at our spectacular, but probably not undeserved, fall.

We have been at fault for FFP, whether that's because we didn't understand what could and couldn't be discounted, or we just deliberately ignored it and hoped we'd talk our way out of it is anyone's guess though (although I'm sure most would agree it's probably the latter).
