I reckon the hipster signings (Barry, Aznou, Dibling) are all absolutely down to the transfer committee.
Or does he want Chermiti out on loan, and then we are short of strikers, and he wants 1 in to cover Chermiti?

Or maybe he just wants more options? Last season we had DCL, Beto, Chermiti and Broja. We are missing 1 striker compared to last season and if Chermiti does go on loan then 2.

Feel like there’s already a disconnect forming between moyes at the rest of the recruitment team.
Not sure I’d jump to that conclusion based on heresay ?

Hearsay being comments from the actual manager.

I have a feeling there are 2 projects going on at the moment. 1 is getting players in for the future and maybe now.

2 players for now, and I also think this part isn't going to plan as many have either rejected us or proved too expensive.

I don't think it's an internal clash, just more frustration. The players who should have come in and instantly improved the starting 11 are proving more difficult.

Barry probably isn't ready to hit the ground running and bag a load of goals in the Prem, he's a striker with potential, I think we all know that.

Moyes will also know that he himself won't be here for a long period, and would like players to come in and make an impact in his time here. Doesn't mean Barry is a dud. Think we might see a loan striker come in.

“He didn't say that Moyes didn't want him, just that the owners see this as a marquee signing for the new era.”

Think the owners are entitled to see this as a marquee signing (IF that’s what Moyes said to Stone) if that’s what they feel it is in their mind ? Still don’t call that a rift.

How is a one year loan of a player who's been bombed out a marquee signing? Id consider fofana more of a marquee signing, maybe even dibling.

Owners are always crackers aren't they

Maddison has done his ACL, so I expect to see Spurs sniffing around soon.

Different players in my opinion.

I like this take and hope it’s the truer one, because it means better cohesion moving forwards.

Green flag imo. We don’t want Moyes making all the decisions when we intend to bring someone new in next season or the one after. It avoids the need to have a massive overhaul when you match the manager to the squad rather than the other way round

Yeah, manager’s have to have some input into recruitment, and owners a lesser amount, but the vast majority should come from the recruitment team.

I do kinda get vibes that Moyes and the recruitment team are pulling in slightly different directions, but maybe that’s just me.

Also, if he’s talking to people openly about the disconnect it’s not a good look, particularly with the Friedkin’s supposedly liking to play their cards close to their chest, and preferring to keep things in house.
