Well I didn't actually think they'd admit error but there you go!
Any chance we can hear the audio now from the ref and VAR so we can see how they came to the most ridiculous of decisions in the first place please?

But I wonder if the difference is as I said that the PL officials sent him off but the appeals panel were FA officials ?
Still wonder what the match result might have been if we’d had 11 players on the pitch to the end ?

What about poor Clyne though, he barely survived the incident...
Of course retrospective punishment for cheating to get a player sent off won't happen, but there needs to be some incentive for players to not simulate injury in order to gain an advantage.

Right we want our ten points back next.
And then we'll have a complimentary 10 points added, for the inconvenience, ta.

Just because it wasn't a red doesn't automatically mean the other player cheated. This type of thinking is how you get 90% of responses to tweets about suspected rapists not getting found guilty being dickheads saying 'lock up the lying bitch'.

I genuinely didn't think they'd overturn this and admit they made a mistake.
Happy about it though, DCL hat trick vs Villa incoming

Fair enough, at least common sense prevailed in the end.
However, the officials involved and VAR itself must be reviewed. For this to happen in the first place is scandalous.

When will we see a ref go to the screen and disagree with the var it has to happen eventually surely kavanagh saw it last week and should have overruled var it’s ruining what should be a good piece of technology for football

I think the weight of opinion expressed by most football fans, pundits, media, etc as a factor here, also that VAR in FA cup is only at prem grounds.
A poor decision was reached on the day, influenced by a broken system, and it's quite correct it has been over turned. Don't supose we can have our penalty too can we?
Refs need to have a bit more faith in their ability and go with their gut reaction in real time.
All we need now is DCL to find a goal or two
