So how have we gone from it's almost done to we have no interest in him?

Few years before Arteta, but Brian Laudrup was my favourite SPL player.

Doubt we will shell out the required price for Ferguson.
Deadline day deals I reckon, few coming in from abroad.

Yeah really had hoped we'd have some more solid links by now. Desperately need some bodies, especially after the recent injuries

£6m up front for Beto from Torino, £6m up front for Ferguson... Another £20m over 4 seasons, maybe a few bonus additions that we really have no chance of paying out for, some sort of sell on fee % and I could live with that.
Still think it'd be a gamble but also he fits the Moyes profile of a striker so I've done a bit of an about turn on the idea of Ferguson.
*Figures made up, not from any source, just thinking out loud about a deal I think would be worth pursuing.

Ferguson isn’t what we need has a big rep but has done nothing for 12/18 months and is injured an awful lot

Don't see how we can possibly afford him.

I bet Moyes can't wait for this summer, with half a squad to fill and we can actually spend some money. As a manager this is a unique opportunity to shape a team, obviously that comes with it's own issues but I have a hunch that the transfer thread over summer will be a little more interesting than this one talking about the SPL (no offense to the SPL).

All the rumours about Ferguson point to a fee upwards of forty million - we’re not in the discussion

It’s reported in that article that there’s funds to spend and it’s been reported elsewhere.
Around the £30m mark could be possible.

Checking if they played together was how i found out about Gattuso. He was a proper player. Loved him since the early Championship Manager games.
