Regarding Keane , I’d rather go out and buy an attacking left back and let Mykolenko be back up left back/4th choice centre back. We definitely need two right and two left footed centre backs.

I honestly think we’re in with a shout. He was a city player this time last year so won’t want to sit on the bench. Think he’ll be looking for a staged way back up. We’d only be a stepping stone like but think he’ll be done early with all the interest wherever he goes so that could play into our hands as Isak still at Newcastle and no certainty with Utd if he’d go there anyway being ex city. Just keep thinking back to a couple of weeks ago going to sign the wall on goodison rd and the fact he’s had a sit down with Moyes. That goes a long way with players, especially if he gets directors of football elsewhere

Big physical fella who can run quick and twat the ball.
Play basketball and he'll be great.
Play football and we'll see.

I could actually see games where he'd work well *with* Beto.
Would need proper wing backs and a revamped central midfield though.

Delap would be great for us. Good physically, puts in a shift, young and at a good price. And has a bit of skill to boot. It’s a fairly low risk but high reward signing. If it doesn’t work out, he will have decent sell on value.
We are a big club offering decent wages with a manager that is a known quantity in the league. All that and we have a new stadium with a half decent squad that needs boosting with quality. We will be right in the mix for players.
Do not underestimate the impact of the new stadium on players. It would not surprise me if we attracted some signings that we otherwise might not have been able to due to the new stadium (and also the finances that it brings).

He’s a tempting purchase due to his resale value in 2yrs if he does similar achievable numbers.

I have 2 questions - are his long throws as potent as his dad’s? And how many keepie-uppies can he do?

I know these things have twists and turns but Bet365 still have him 6/1 for his next club to be Everton so I certainly don't think we are front runners for him.

Sorry for the double post - we also should remember that next season's 4th choice will likely be 3rd choice in 2026-27. There's plenty of near-term minutes available.
Tarks is old, and was already lacking pace before a major hamstring injury. Not sure he gets another contract.
Of course he gets another contract, old ffs, he’s captained the club well this season and is still younger than Van Dyke who just got a new contract, nobody calling him old.

They're a bit too similar imo.
Put Beto in Ipswich's system and let him just run and twat on the fast break and he would absolutely smoke it.

Delap seems cleverer, and loves a little through ball. I wouldn't fancy being a CB pairing and going up against both of them.

Echo have an article on why Sean Longstaff would be a ‘shrewd’ signing
