Went out on Sunday, turned up to training hungover, has been dropped from the squad for a game.
If that’s not the case then why would moyes answer the question on him like that?

Some people will always try and play it down and that's fine. Personally I'm not into a player earning hundreds of thousands a week going out on the lash and putting his health at risk when we're already short on numbers and have a run of 5 games in a fortnight coming up. Of course they can enjoy themselves but there's a time and a place and this is neither.

Also here to help players like Dibling learn from him, so his attitude and application are key to setting the right example off the pitch - but yeah it's Grealish so not sure that's ever going to happen tbh.
I've never been a fan of footballers not treating their bodies like athletes though so stuff like this will always put me off a player... Regardless of how well behaved he was on his birthday night out you can pretty much guarantee it won't have been the behaviour of a top class athlete.
As someone else said though he's at Everton for a reason, if he had the right mindset about health and his body he'd still be at City.
So we either take that side and accept it or say thanks and goodbye at the end of the season. I'd probably choose the latter personally as along with his longevity being on question due to his partying I also don't think he's the player we need. We desperately need pace and splurged on Dibling who doesn't have much, so Jack's spot is the only one available to rectify that problem.

Not sure on the credibility of the article, it says he was drinking deep into the early hours of the Sunday 21st in London - but we didn't finish our match against Arsenal until 10pm.
Moyes is frosty in his response though so something has definitely happened.

It’s all gone a bit tabloidy in here. Went out nearly a week before the game. Went out with his missus. Did not break any club rules while out.
Nothing to see here but his impressive column inches.
Pretty much my thoughts, especially given where the story originated…

Agreed but what are you gunna do?
He's almost certainly compromised his career with his carry on. Missing a game for Everton won't even register.
Think Moyes knows he has a bit of a tightrope on his hands. And he wants to juice this opportunity as much as possible without letting it unravel.
He's not here for long, and it's sadly just part of the parcel we've accepted with this player.

Yeh not sure we can have much surprise here. This is what you get with him. He's only here for a year so just put up with it and bid him goodbye in the summer.
You can only imagine the drop off in form once he signs a 3 yr contract here on big money and his legs really start to go as he turns 30. Not sure this ownership or Moyes will be down for that.

I’m sure that there’s a bunch of players doing this every week of the season, but because it’s Jackie G, it’s suddenly nooz.

Do you really believe in this world of social media that if that was true it wouldn't be all over Twitter and Instagram etc, especially if a big name player was out on the lash the week before a run of five games in a fortnight? And even if it was true, are they missing the game straight after it? All the other players seemed to be able to stay off the piss over Christmas.
To be honest, I'm not even that surprised or bothered by it, I just find people trying to defend it, dismiss it or justify it quite bizarre.

Imagine if it was Tyler Dibling or Thierno Barry

Cant believe I am quoting the mail but...
"They racked up a hefty bill, but sources described the footballer, known for his charity work, as 'the perfect gentleman' who 'didn't so much as look at any of the lap-dancers'.
They added: 'He is in a loving relationship and this was just a venue that was open for some late night drinks.'
There are no photos of him coming out of the club in any sort of state, the image the mail used was from a night out in 2023. Who knows how many drinks he had, but hopefully he took it easy and wasnt out too late. Even so, I'm not going let a half baked story in the mail, with no photos, timeline or anything other than a few comments from a source sway me.

I doubt the Mail would bother with it, if it was.

Absence a complete coincidence I'm sure
