£6m up front for Beto from Torino, £6m up front for Ferguson... Another £20m over 4 seasons, maybe a few bonus additions that we really have no chance of paying out for, some sort of sell on fee % and I could live with that.
Still think it'd be a gamble but also he fits the Moyes profile of a striker so I've done a bit of an about turn on the idea of Ferguson.
*Figures made up, not from any source, just thinking out loud about a deal I think would be worth pursuing.
Anything we get for Beto would go to Udinese, we would also have to write off the remaining value from the balance sheet which would further impact PSR. We paid 30m for him, at least 24m left on the books as asset, don’t think we can afford to sell him in this window.

It’s reported in that article that there’s funds to spend and it’s been reported elsewhere.
Around the £30m mark could be possible.
Doubt we have more than £10m plus whatever sales.

Yeah but I don’t see us going down even if we don’t make any moves.
I think we’ll get one or two in anyway.

Checking if they played together was how i found out about Gattuso. He was a proper player. Loved him since the early Championship Manager games.
Remember when we had an interest in him

Because we won two games?
Think that's mad myself.
We haven't been that good like. Massive results but beat a broken spurs and managed a dychian win v Brighton with a pen being our only shot on target.
Without Dom and Mangala it's perfectly possible we hit a run of poor results immediately.
I've seen enough Everton games to know how Saturday goes personally.

Because 30 pts likely suffices, and 35 absolutely will.

No, because we’re seven points off the drop and I don’t see the teams below us making that gap up.

We paid £25m or €25m depending on which report you read, but yes I agree the longer ramifications of signing this guy are problematic when it comes to buying new players.
We do have reportedly £5m available to spend now though so could still put that down without any issues with PSR.
It the £40m reported price tag is true though it's irrelevant as we can't afford that on anyone let alone someone who's a bit of a gamble.

That is because of the two wins like, but I wish I had that kind of optimism for sure!
Even just to stay out of the nagging argument over who will go would be amazing but frankly, we lose Saturday we're back in it no probs.

We don't have 35 points sadly

It's always a bit hard to relax as an Everton fan. I think in part as recently there has been very little redundancy in how we have to go about things. The margin of results is often narrow, we rarely see out games comfortably 2 or 3 goals ahead. We rarely have a large enough points buffer that 1 win by teams below us can't make the table look a bit shaky again. And we rarely have a big enough squad with enough quality so that a couple of injuries can be easily adjusted to.
Hopefully we can get a couple of decent players in knowing what we know now about the injuries as that is the main concern for right now. If we get a bit more coverage back into the squad it could help bring some more confidence that we can finish out the season without it being yet another stressful nailbiter.

It’s because the teams below us are bad, it’s not us being good.
We’ve been in worse positions than this at this stage and stayed up.

We're better off than I expected a few weeks ago, but I'm not taking any of it for granted.
Just worry about that the two wins have given us a false sense of security given the state of the squad.
Gueye and Garner(?) for the rest of the year, Beto up top...how many games would we have envisioned winning with that like up a few weeks ago?
