Perhaps starting a bit early, but with talk of us linked with Paqueta who has asked to leave WHU in January, and the fact that we all know we have areas we need to address, why not discuss what we want for my birthday month?

With regards to Paqueta it’s a no from me. Good player, some baggage, but not what we need. Not for £50M. Whatever January budget we have should go on a right back, striker and a holding midfielder.

Definitely a RB and a striker. I don't think a DM is a priority as we have enough midfielders just not the right blend. I'd look at loning Toney with an option to buy. There are strikers out there because Brighton, Brentford and Bournemouth seem to find them.

A RB and a striker.

Paqueta would be a disaster.

Don't think we have much left to spend if anything tbh , loan at best.

Won’t be doing much in January.

Get a full back if we can but that’s it and I’m fine with that.

Think Barry will be settled into the team and doing ok by then.

Get me a CM who isn't just a run around guy. If he can win headers in the middle of the pitch even better.

Get me a full back, two of you can.

Get me a pacey direct attacker. Even if he's old just get me an athlete.

Give Garner a good run at RB and see if he's capable playing regularly there, if so it solves both the issue of no RB and also removes him from CM where he's not delivering anything meaningful.

Try sign an LB and a striker if that works out ok, but realistically we've probably got no money to spend even on loan fees so unless someone's desperate to get in an international team and not playing I doubt we'll find that possible.

Toney on loan
An actual number 6 - Budget Barry, Busquets type
RB or as Ajax Andy says, LB and Garner at RB

I would go as far to say risk going slightly over financially, as we might look to be in trouble soon.

The problem with going over is we are then potentially in a position of selling someone to balance the books.

We've done that too much in recent years, I'd hate to see Ndaiye leave for less than he's worth to us because we were desperate.

If he leaves then I want it to be on our terms and any money we make be reinvented properly.

Richy will be back imo. Tel, Kolo-Muani, Solanke... Be surplus come that point.

Two full backs who can actually play football and make Ndiaye and Grealish way more effective

Only if the price is right as we know he won't stay fit.

I wonder how many transfer window's it will take before we sign a first team ready right back.
