Don Revie Everton Manager

Decent little article on the BBC about how we nearly got Don Revie in as manager after Harry Cattrick.

I'd never heard that before, but then if the contract lay undiscovered for 50 odd years a lot of people probably didn't, there was no transfer rumour threads or internet ITKs back in the 70's. :)

Interesting read. Never knew that either. Would have been a bit of a sliding doors moment. What might have happened in the mid/ late seventies and leading into what we achieved in the 80's. Don't particularly see Revie as an Everton manager though either.

I do remember Don Revie and Bobby Robson being favourites to replace The Catt in 1973

I seem to think that Malcolm Allison, Ron Saunders and Gordon Milne were also being mentioned at the time

Slightly before my time but I've always been aware of the Revie link.

Just think of all those personal muscle rubs the Everton players missed out on.
