Benitez elbowed him and Digne and managed to wrestle total control of our Club.
I really thought we were doomed.
As frustrating it is to see JOB at rb and Armstrong on the wing, it’s worth remembering how far we had fallen, and how far we have come.

Rafa came into our shop asking for something we didn't sell a few weeks back.
I need to give my stories more thought before I type them.

It is amazing really considering how we circled the drain without dropping during that era.
Benitez was comfortably the pinnacle and the beacon that defined that whole era. Amazing how much Moshiri simply couldn't read the room, or maybe he just didn't care.
When you consider we also went from him to Lampard then Dyche. I mean yeah, miracle we still exist.

Remember when we thought Allardyce was as bad as it could get?

I hate it when Evertonians refer to him as Rafa, that’s the shites name for him.

I was never really convinced we would ever go down. I didn’t even watch the Bournemouth game. Just checked the score through the day.
Just something about us that always manages to drag ourselves out of it.
We are too big to go down really. You look at how other big clubs accepted they fate like Newcastle and villa.
We didn’t do that. The fans got together and dragged us over the line.
We also had some monster individual performances from Doucoure, Gana and pickford that won us games and they were a class above during that period.
We were also very fortunate along the way as well.
That weekend after we lost to Burnley where they lose to norwich and we beat United was massive. Leicester completely imploding, having no threat when we were deducted points.

Couple of seasons we really didnt deserve to survive.
Been frustrated this season. If only wed signed a right back, if only wed hit the jackpot with dibbling or barry etc but we had years where it looked most likely wed be in the lower leagues desperately trying to survive financially. Its a genuine fluke that we are where we are. We love saying "everton that" but we got a level of luck im not sure happens too often..... twice

Leicester penalty miss against us. Think maddison scores that relegates us.

A lot of players stepped up towards the end. Maddison scores that penalty and we're going down. The players Ramster mentioned but also Gray, Dom, Iwobi and nobody more than Richarlison imo came up with huge moments and performances to drag us out of the mire.
A huge amount of luck as well though. Nick Pope saving a shot from Castagne shouldn't be something I remember.

I think we were leading 1-2 and @Shogun posted something about their profligacy/distinct lack of opportunities... and the rest, as they say, is history.
And then he replaced Lampard less than 10 months later!

On the bright side we made some new rivals who we can watch fail.
Get to watch Luton fail in league 1. Leicester hopefully join them and Burnley get relegated by 20 points every other season.
